What's the picture quality looking like on these releases?
I heard some less than flattering reviews in regards to Blu's PQ over the last few years - predominantly DIE HARD 1 & 2.

Could those two use a remaster: yes. Will a remaster likely happen: reports are that there's been a 4K remaster of the first film already and it screened at the Fox lot last year. Are the current releases terrible: absolutely not. They're clearly older masters so the colours aren't quite as well defined as a state of the art current remaster of the same film and things like the handling of grain aren't perfect but they are more than serviceable.

Short answer: if you like the films and don't own them then it's "A Good Day to Buy Hard".

LOL Nice one atexp

4K remaster would be nice but not going to wait around for that and I'm sure Fox will do a bit of double dipping by releasing 4K as single disc release - not in a box set like the Legacy set. Maybe we'll get them in the set that "celebrates' release of DIE HARD 6 () but certainly not before.

Anyway, thanks for info mate. I'll add it to my post Chrissie shopping list then.

If you try and find it on JB's website it tells you that the offer has now expired. Not too sure what to think!

You're right about that mate.
So, I just rang local store and they have a quite a few in stock. Maybe JB can't get stocks anymore and are running out what's remaining in stores.
If you haven't already, might pay to ring around.

I'd say it's just no longer a JB exclusive, and a new listing for it will be up on their website soon. Some of their more recent exclusives have expired after only 2 or 3 months, and have become wide releases as soon the agreement is over.

Die Hard 4 aka Die Hard 4.0 is presented in the 'US Unrated' version. It adds in CGI blood and John McClane gets to say his catchphrase in full rather than being cut off.

I'm looking to purchase this. Any suggestions as it's now disappeared from JB and I didn't see it on Chaos or EzyDvd.

Isn't this the one you're looking for?

http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/dvd/d...lection/692066

Seems like there's plenty of copies around in store still, according to the in-store pickup tab.

No that's the DVD.

Strange that it's not available on site, there's still copies in store.

Crap, how could I miss that! That is weird that it doesn't list any in stores. In case anyone after a copy is near Top Ryde, I know they have a couple of copies in stock (of the Blu-ray!).

Really bummed that they aren't selling Die Hard 4 uncut buy itself, really don't need to buy the others again.

I'd definitely pick this up during the 20% off sale right now, just in case it's actually OOP.
