Could those two use a remaster: yes. Will a remaster likely happen: reports are that there's been a 4K remaster of the first film already and it screened at the Fox lot last year. Are the current releases terrible: absolutely not. They're clearly older masters so the colours aren't quite as well defined as a state of the art current remaster of the same film and things like the handling of grain aren't perfect but they are more than serviceable.

Short answer: if you like the films and don't own them then it's "A Good Day to Buy Hard".
