Golden Compass pixelation problems

I checked the threads, and found nothing on this.
I just picked up The Golden Compass, and most noticiable in the last sceen the faces were largely blue pixelated.

Anyone else have this problem?

I am using a PS3 HDMI out and a DLP Mitsu 1080p. I have never seen this problem in the past.

Yes, I noticed it on two occassions on the film. Sam Elliot (Lee Scoresby) is present on both occasions.

No, I did not have that pixilation problem. I just watched it and thought the picture was excellent overall. Did not see any color problems throughout the movie and at the last scene. Perhaps you have a bad disk??? Try rewatching the last scene to determine if the problem is noticeable.

I did not notice a pixelation problem, but as noted above, did see a blue tint in the actors faces on two occasions in the movie.

I don't own Ghost Rider. I was referring to noticing the effect twice in The Golden Compass.

i saw it being played off a PS3 to a Samsung LCD in the mall and it looks great.. made me want to buy the BD except i dont think the movies good enough

..back to your post.. they were showing the ending of the movie when i saw it in the mall and it looked fine.. heck i would have rated it a 5/5 for PQ

Looks terrific, but save your money, it's a real stinker.

Nah it's not 5/5 material.. it's 4 top... maybe 3.5 like this site is about right. The amount of DNR is amazing and ruin most of the detail. I mean watch Enchanted than watch this... Ouch!

I saw the same blue pixalation in those scenes. I'm glad I'm not alone as I thought I had an issue with my system. Golden Compass is definitely NOT demo material. Not impressed with the quality.

I saw the same blue tint too. I liked the movie but as far as Bluray picture quality goes, it's not one of the better ones.

Screenshot or details on where to look? I want to make sure I didn't get a bad disc.

Dust, finger prints, disk problems etc. could cause reading errors. HDMI limitations also could manifest on the screen in this way. If this is the case it will not occur at the same place on different systems but it may be repeatable on the same system.

for those with the problem : what's your TV model? maybe it's a specific setting that makes it look bad
