HEY YALL,
I dont know if you remember one of my previous post's, "Klipsch or Def-Tech", well It Was my birthday yesterday, and i Went and got the Klipsch RF 82's. Now, i see that there are a total of Four Speakers Outputs on the back of each tower. I've never really installed Klipsch Speakers before, so this was new to me. On the Speaker it self there are two rows, as you are aware of, one says HF and LF, i was reading that it's called Bi Amped. Now I was confused on how to hook that up so i just hooked up the first row of speaker out puts HF using regular Monster Speaker cable wire, to the Speaker A (-,+) for the Left Tower, and Speaker B (-,+) for the Right Tower onto My Denon 2308 reciever. I AM AFRAID TO BLOW OUT MY RECIEVER ALL THE WAY, AND IM DONT WANNA TAKE A CHANCE, CAN SOMEONE HELP ME WITH THESE HOOKUPS! I am confused on how to hook both the HF and LF bi amps to my reciever. Would you mind please helping me on how to do so!! U helped me make the decision to go KLIPSCH, thanks! |

You're not gonna blow anything, they are supposed to be that way so that you can have the option to Bi-amp. And they are actually inputs, not outputs
![]() Anyways, if you are not going to biamp, and I assume that you aren't, then the speakers should have come with a little metal connector that attaches both sets of binding posts together. That way you only have to run speaker wire to one set of binding posts on the speakers, but both binding posts get the signal. If you only feed a signal to one set, then either your tweeter or your woofers will be off depending on what set of biding posts you have the wire connected to. Those Klipsch gold biding posts make wonderful nose pins or nipple pins.
![]() One set of speaker wires. Post back in. Good to go. |

You did not say what Receiver you are using...
Many Receivers available today, if designed to do 7.1 BUT run in 5.1, offer the option of using the "Extra" available amps to run a set of speakers in biamp mode. Because the Klipsch are already so efficient its not something that is necessary. Read the receivers manual... If you later decide to try it out be sure to follow all the directions as to where all the wires connect and then. yes you would remove the connecting bars on the speaker and run two sets of wires to each speaker. I cannot impress enought the importance of the proper hook up to be sure that neither the receiver nor the speakers are damaged. ![]() |

First I do see the Denon Reciever listed in your Signature..
Yes it is biamp capable... If you look on the back you will see the last set of speaker connections, all the way to the right, are marked bas surround/biamp assign. This feature MUST be set up in the receiver to work properly. As stated above read and understand the manual if you want to do this. Second, What model of Martin Logan sub are you using, I love there subs but I dont know of a Model 900 |

If I had pictures of mine, I'd show you (since pictures are worth a thousand words) All of my B&W's are bi-amp-able, but I only connect them with one set of speaker wires, and keep the gold plate ON. If you have a receiver, and I'll go out on a ledge here, and say you have an Onkyo......
![]() EDIT.... Denon! I was wrong!!!!! Shame on me!!! I was stereo-typing... we should all learn from this! Last edited by Beta Man; 05-06-2008 at 02:20 PM. |

p. 56 of your owners manual to see how to hook up for bi-amping (with the jumper plate on the speakers removed). p. 59 of the manuals pdf
Bi amping provides separate woofer and tweeter feeds to your front speakers, supposedly providing improved bass and treble performance. Try it both ways and decide which you think sounds better. If not bi-amping, leave the jumper plate in place. Last edited by Slec; 05-06-2008 at 02:32 PM. |

Bi-amping is beneficial if your speakers can handle loads of power or if you would like to use a crossover that is different from the one inside of your speaker. You can either use two separate outputs from the reciever or you could use two channels from an external amp. However, in your case, I think that you would be best to just use the binding posts and one speaker wire. Just know that you have the option to biamp those speakers down the road if you wish to fiddle with it then. |
