So many movies now that have now come out that are just remakes of different Asian movies, some are pretty good (Departed) and some not so good (The Eye). Hopefully a lot of people go back and watch the original Asian versions. |

US versions or Japanese versions? I liked Ringu 1 and 2 (Japanese) and Ju-on. I thought the US version of Ring 1 was not bad but not quite as good as the original. But the rest are much better in the Japanese versions.

I rented this last week, and I thought it was barely OK. I don't think it's completely a 0% fresh tomato (as listed on RottenTomatoes); I'd say it's even with Shutter or maybe just a little better as Shutter left me wanting. At least OMC has some creep factor.

This movie made any of the bad Sci Fi Channel movies look like masterpieces. It basically took the Asian version, and beat it to death. I get the feeling that anyone who does like it, should wait a couple of months and get it as a $5 clearance item.
As Comic Book Guy would say, "WORST MOVIE EVER!" |

Haven't seen it, but did see original version. as OP said wasn't sure if it is going to end with this movie. The original has a sequel. So if they think it did well in the states i'm sure they'll redo part 2 as well. This also goes for the EYE coming out. there's a part 2 and I doubt the american version will be better than the originals.

unfortunatly it was another remake of Japanese flick and i guess it was beetween alright and bad. LOL i'm not even sure. I dont think it deserves your 90 some minutes of your life. Just skip it and watch Casino Royale or The Descent again.

Horror Flicks like this one i will purchase at a price at two times the cost of the rental. For me there has never been much replay value. This is why I have never purchased Saw I-IV. I saw the first two on DVD and never bothered to purchase on BD because I can't justify spending more than $9.99 to $13.99 on a movie I will probably only watch once. I figure as much as I want to see the movie, renting it costs $6-7 and its worth another $5-6 to own to add to the collection. In the case of one missed call, it has no replay value to me because of the genre it fits into as far as movies go.
