there is no way this thing will be any good. I love Donnie Darko and I hope this does not dimish it in any way. And yes I can't wait to see it in Blu-ray

I was going to say something like that. Its sad really. If anybody from the original is going to be in it. It would have to be that teacher that had a thing for Patrick Swayze's character.

Agreed. What a f*cking waste of time. No Richard Kelley, no point.

I don't know. If his older(movie) sister is going to be in it she'll need to be married to Frank.

But I'm agreeing with most of everybody here that they don't need to touch this.

Donnie Darko is one of my top favorite movies. If you didn't like it the first time, I suggest watching it again, perhaps the director's cut. At any rate, the sequal could be bad, or it could be good. It all depends on how it's done. I think it has potential.

If Richard was involved I wouldn't mind even though zero reasons exist to make a sequel. But without him behind the story and directors chair this has the makings of a disaster.

Pretty much this seems like an excuse to milk the fans of the first one. This movie now has a huge following. Enough for a small theatrical run possibly and easily one for the home market.

Even the skeptical DD nuts like me will watch the sequel just to see it. Some might even blind buy. Not too mention this gives the people who did not get a chance to get on our bandwagon the first go around a chance to join in on the cult train.

Nothing we can do but sit back and watch, moan, and hope to be presently surprised.

Ah yes, a perfect example of a credit-crunch induced sequel.

Ugh.
