'Urban Legend' to Haunt Blu-ray in July
May 12, 2008

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced Urban Legend, starring Alicia Witt, Jared Leto, Michael Rosenbaum, Joshua Jackson and Tara Reid, is being readied to hack and slash its way onto Blu-ray Disc July 22. Urban Legend will join the first two I Know What You Did Last Summer films and The Exorcism of Emily Rose in making their high definition debut on the same date.

Urban Legend on Blu-ray will be presented in widescreen 2.4:1 1080p video and 5.1 Dolby TrueHD audio.

No supplemental features have been announced or confirmed by the studio at this time. We expect the commentary, featurette and trailer found on the old DVD version to make its way to Blu-ray.

Sony has priced Urban Legend on Blu-ray at an SRP of $28.95. Check back regularly for high resolution cover art and a pre-order link.

look like sony is buffing up on the horror. Least theirs an attempt by some studio

I actually kinda like this movie and might consider picking it up. Owned the VHS but never the DVD.

Yeah, this is getting to be pretty exciting. I didn't think a lot of these movies would come out for a while. I'm sure I'll end up getting:

and possibly The Exorcism of Emily Rose (I just recently got the import on that one so I'll wait to see how it it compared to that).

Yes, the "Scream" trilogy is one of my MOST wanted "horror" releases... can you imagine how good the films will be with Buena Vista's FANTASTIC PQ quality releases and 5.1 PCM (or Dolby TrueHD)? Couple that with the "Last Summer" movies and "Fallen" (WB) and I'd be happy with "horror" (though I use the term loosely for "Fallen") releases...

Sappy inspirational film... not bad, but not great either. I don't see why anyone would dislike it, though I could understand why some people wouldn't care about seeing it again.

I have never seen this movie I dont know if I want to except I like Leto as an Actor.

It is pretty good as a thriller. I will probably end up getting this. Sony has done very well with catalogs in both audio and video departments.
