Default Arcsoft TotalMedia Theatre Profile 2.0 and more

As of May 07th, Total Media is Profile 2.0 and has achieved DTS HD Master certification (supposedly the first player to do so)....without HDMI!!!!!
!!!!

I'm reinstalling mine now! It's supposed to allow DTS HD Master without down resolution! It also includes seperate bass management and speaker remapping

Here's the link http://www.arcsoft.com/press/viewrel...?releaseid=231

Wake up PS3, you have a new roommate - the HTPC has arrived !!!!

Honestly, no HTPC holds a candle to the PS3. I have a very nice HTPC with all the fixins, and watching movies on the PS3 is superior in everyway. Also, PowerDVD8 has had Profile 2.0 and DTS HD MA (non hdmi) for a while now. Arcsoft is also horrible when it comes to hardware acceleration and is rather poor software when in comparison to PowerDVD8.

PowerDVD8 still downsamples DTS HD Master to 48/16 resolution. I've had no problems with Arcsoft and I became a WinDVD 9 Plus BD fan because of ALL2HD (powerDUD 8 doesn't have this feature). My HTPC does everything a PS3 can do (except play PS3 games but there are some PC games that the PS3 can't play right ) and its faster!!!! My load times on Ratatoullie are faster than a PS3, as a matter of fact my load times on most BD's are faster than a PS3. The beauty of it is I have the versitility of a PS3 and the much desired analog outs . Have you tried the new Arcsoft software at all? I own all three...legally. And I rank them like this:

1. Windvd 9 Plus BD Best all around Player with Arcsoft right behind
2. PowerDUD 8 I mean PowerDVD 8 is currently last with all of its restrictions - it has the capability to be great but settles for medicore.

The downsampling problem is the only advantage that a PS3 had over HTPC and now that has been taken away. I'm one of the few people that I know that have this new version and it works with my BDs. When Windvd 9 goes profile 2.0 and gets rid of downsampling - it will be the undisputed champ but for now it shares the title for BD playback.

Where did your hear that? I heard they removed that restriction on the last update to Version 7. Don't tell me they put the damned restriction back in again on version 8 !?
