Hello all, I came across this site via Google.com.
Forgive me, I am new to all the below mentioned technology, and am sorry if this is like beating a dead horse. I have done a bit of research and am not turning up answers, I may be asking the wrong thing, or wording it wrong. So here it goes... I recently purchased a Playstation 3 and a Samsung 32" 720p/1080i LCD TV. I am using an HDMI cable to link the two. I have played 1080p native PS3 games and they look GREAT. I have also played native 720p games that looked equally impressive. What I am really concerned about is, I played a blu-ray movie in the PS3 for the 1st time the other night. Not too impressed, people and objects moving across the screen left a "trail" behind them. This was very distracting and gave me a headache trying to watch the movie. My fiancé said she only noticed a few times, but it seemed like that was all I could focus on. Is this the TV having a hard time keeping up with the picture? The PS3 not "downscaling" the video to 720p or 1080i? I have no clue what to do. ANY help is appreciated, and THANK YOU in advance. -David |

i asked the same question, but worded differently. i asked about, tracers, or blurring, but, trails, works too. i never got a response. i think that was about a weak ago. i hope you have better luck than i did. i would contact the manufacturer, of both devices, and ask them. there may be a firmware update that could help. good luck.

Sounds like the response time on your TV isn't fast enough. The higher the number, in ms, the more likely you'll see "trails" during fast moving scenes/objects.
EDIT: Check out this website, it'll explain it more! http://brainstuff.howstuffworks.com/...nse-time-work/ Last edited by andrewski1979; 05-20-2008 at 05:40 PM. |

I checked on Samsung's website, they are claiming 6ms for responce time.
I was noticing it through nearly all movement, we were watching a chick flick (P.S. I Love You), so there really wasn't a whole lot of "fast moving scenes/objects". I am going rent an action movie on blu-ray tonight and see how that looks. Last edited by pyzik; 05-20-2008 at 05:55 PM. |

Don't know your model number but you should try turning off the 120Hz motion video processing. Then come back and let us know.

I checked the PS3, I have not checked the TV. Don't even know how. I will have to read the manual when I get home and report back
Thanks for all the support so far! |

Here is the CNET review of i, if anyone wants to know the specs. Watched 'Saw IV' last night on blu-ray. I made sure 120hz was OFF on the playstation 3. Seemed to help, but I was also extemely tired. I don't understand why I do not notice anything during game play, TV viewing or DVDs. |
