Default Onkyo 805.

I plan on purchasing this receiver very soon to start my new audio section of my home theatre. based on a budget i get per month is it ok if i start by using my sammy htib speakers and replace as i get new ones? so basically onkyo 805 with samsung htib speaker setup, highly too much power for the speakers but replacing speakers slowly. does this work?

yeah it works. check the ratings (ohms) for the speakers.... not sure if the 805 is selectable, if so, check that too. Either way, if you damage the speakers, are you going to lose much sleep over it? (and I doubt you'll damage them, just don't go crazy with them listening to music, or watching action flicks etc.)

It will be fine. I started the same way, except I had an Panasonic HTiB. It was Panasonic SC-HT40, Cheap little system, but it held up to the power of my Onkyo 605 then to the 805.

The 805 is selectable 4 - 8 ohms or 8 - 16 ohms, you should be fine.
