Honestly I just hope they go all out for this release. I emailed Criterion earlier about trying to get Moonrise and this on their future releases and they gave me a really terrible reply. I'm sick of playing the waiting or double dip game with them.
This has beautiful artwork, hopefully they get the features right and a criterion release would be useless. While Moonrise, I'm thinking of biting soon, growing tired of waiting. |

The studios that actually make/distribute the films need to have their profits and once those have slowed then Criterion can go about making their releases, and it'll be worth the double-dip just like Mr. Fox was. So I say go ahead and buy and enjoy Moonrise Kingdom. It's a decent release, it looks good. Pales to a Criterion, sure, but I paid 20 bucks for it two years ago and I'll sell it and get the Criterion. Win-Win. |

But regarding home video sales there's no reason why they can't do what they did with Benjamin Button with Paramount/criterion release of it. The only bummer was the packaging wasn't as nice |
