Default Best 7.1 movie the PS3 will decode

Looking for the best movie sound wise in 7.1 the PS3 will decode. The movies I have are Rush Hour 3 and Hairspray but neither of them are one's that work in 7.1 through the ps3.

only bout 10 movies in 7.1 and most are Liongate films. I just do a movie search by the studio on here and look for which ones that do or use search function cause earlier saw a link for 7.1 movies but to answer your true question i heard The Condemned was great in 7.1 audio

Review even mentioned it as a demo quality in sound

The only one I've noticed that has 7.1 is The Orphanage.

Do you mean a movie that the PS3 will decode? Most seem to be 7.1 PCM. Will the PS3 decode these movies?

The shootout scenes in 3:10 to Yuma sounded excellent, as did the hawk flying away at the beginning as Russel Crowe is sketching it.

You are correct, but the PS3 blends the rear channel into two, so all 7 speakers work. The PS3 and Onkyo will even say 7.1 when you press the display info button. Sounds very nice, too.

I didn't know that. I really have to get a surround sound system.

Another vote for "3:10" -- best 7.1 movie I've heard so far through my system.

Cars: 5.1 PCM

3:10 is the most impressive track I have heard so far for showing off all the channels anyway

Shoot em up is a nice disc... but haven't tried it since the 2.35 update the other day... does anyone know if that fixed the problem with the 7.1 issue.

all these sound nice.. the movie on the other hand is questionable for some of them.
The Orphanage
Golden Compass
War
Pans.
The condemned
Saw IV

can't wait for Rambo!

The problem is, PS3 users don't actually get 7.1 out of a couple of those titles (Shoot Em Up, Pans Labyrinth & The Condemned). Hopefully someday...but not working yet.

Probably never will. Not a PS3 problem. It is due to a coding issue on the way that these films were coded in DTS. So we have to enjoy what we have, buy a new receiver that matrixes out PCM, or get a new BD Player.
