Thumbs down Amazon Shipping Faux Pas

This doesn't really fit in any forum topic, but I wanted to post this so people could get a chuckle.

I pre-ordered the national treasure movies BEFORE I ordered the Amazon Prime. They shipped out on time, but I don't have them yet. I live in the Baltimore MD area, and the warehouse is about 35-40 miles from my house.

Here is the shipping doc from my order...

Looking at this, it took 3 days, and who knows how much fuel ($$$) and such.... to ship it right back to the ORIGINAL destination. By the way, if this went on a truck to PA, it actually came within 1 mile of my house twice !!

Anyway, just a little vent, and a laugh with it. Just too funny, and I had to share.

Thanks for listening.

Mark

I've had that happen to me before. A package was being sent off from Laredo, TX to Houston with 1 Day Air. It went from Laredo to San Antonio all the way to KY, then to Houston. I was flabbergasted!

It's funny to see this happen, but it's not Amazon.
This would be the way the carrier (USPS, FedEx, UPS, etc) has their logistical routes set up. I'd be interested in finding out who that carrier is...

It is most likely a lost parcel (fell in the wrong box) I doubt anyone planned a round trip like that

That's pretty weird. It's definitely the carriers... though last week I had some BDs BOTH ship out separately on Monday, one came the NEXT day on standard shipping, the other one Friday, same shipping, same shipout time, definitely strange.

I dropped a package for a company in a FedEx box right in front of the company front doors in San Diego (don’t ask why; it had to go via FedEx). Before arriving, the package traveled to Los Angeles first. I also thought it was funny.

I seen that on my last two packages... I was like "WTF!? " But I got my DVD in on one day and the book in the next. Crazyness. BTW, I really don't like USPS "tracking" if that is what you want to call it. Don't get me wrong, I usualy get my boxes but their "tracking" leaves a lot to be desired.
