Default Iced Tea makers

I really want one for summer, but I dont want one of these ones you have to fill with ice cubes. I want one with a refridgeration loop in it that will cool the tea after it's brewed.

Any suggestions for one, or a kludge solution for the same results? I want to put it in my office at the other end of the house from the kitchen

I don't know if its still for sale or not, but did you ever see that "Mr. Tea" commercial on the old Saturday Night Live shows?

I don't know of any off hand that will have the refridgeration loop in it that will cool the tea after it's brewed, but if it were me, I would also search on Amazon as a good place to start.

Already searched Amazon and all over. All of the tea makers I've found require you to put ice cubes in or to stick it in the fridge

The only ones I've found with what I want are restaurant grade and cost at least $400 heavily used

We have one at work thats hooked up to a water line where it mixes the water and the brew to make upwards to about 10 gallons at least. You never have to put water in it. It doesn't use icecubes but it doesn't get it cold either. Its pretty big but I think you're looking for something smaller. Like you said for the office. So sorry but thats the only thing I can think of.

It makes Coffee also.

Thats just what I was thinking. A restaurant grade machine. If that ends up being the only option is the higher end system, maybe broaden the search on e-bay and see.

I think restaurants and grocery store ones like we have are the same. It doesn't get it cool. That's why when they give you freshly made tea its hot or warm.

Restaurant grade machines and stuff like Tommy is talking about would require a huge investment running a water line in here, no good ;( Total expenditure, even with a cheap restaurant setup would be 4 figures easy

Well, it still needs time to cool it, it's not instantaneous. To take water from boiling to cold isn't easy

It might take a while to find one then because I've never really seen one that gets it cooled after brewed. I've never tried looking for one. I just put a pot water water on and throw in some tea bags.

Question. Sweet or Unsweet?

Well, the only thing I can think of now is home delivery like Pizzas.

Those are the ones that have the 8 to 16 gallon jugs too. Why not just use a coffee maker. Clean it out really good or buy a new one.

All that stuff at the link is the restaurant grade stuff.

Coffee maker doesn't have the capacity

Trying to lose weight, unsweet, though sweet is very delicious especially when supersaturated southern style

I like appreciating the tea's true flavor though as well. When you make sweet tea your're tasting the lemon and sugar more than the tea

I wish I had a viable suggestion for a tea maker that does what you are looking for at a price that costs less than the National Debt.

Good we didn't have to get physical there. We southerners love our sweet tea. We had a lady that worked with us in the Deli Dept that was from up north. When she made the tea to serve the guests for lunch they got pissed it was unsweet. Thats a no-no.

As far as Lemons, I can't stand them in tea. Ewww.
On the tea's natural flavor, it depends what brand. I don't know what brand they use at work but to me its nasty

I don't know what it is. I just don't like it. I can't drink Brisk, Lipton, any bottled tea. With the Lemon and without the lemon. The ones without lemon tastes like it has a touch of lemon. Thats just me.

Hi Tommy. I was curious. How is Iced Tea generally made and preferred in the south? Thanks.

Well iced tea is just sweet tea. At my house we just put a pot of boiling water, stick a couple of tea bags in there(Tetley)for a couple of mins. Then we mix that with more water until it reaches the top of the jug. Then add Sugar. We put 8 scoops for a 3 gallon jug.

The best place to get Sweet Tea around here is at Carey Hilliards Seafood.

lol, so true, but usually when people want cool they also are willing to pay the "cool" price.

since I am not a soft drink guy, I will drink them (if a drink comes with the meal), but does any one even know if they are made with real tea in the first place I was going with the idea of home brew
