Of the red titles, I only want to see Evan Almighty and The Bourne Ultimatum. There doesn't look to be many more red movies worth the price of admission (there aren't too many red movies on there at all).
Looking at the blue movies, the Holiday releases will end HD-DVD: Spidey, POTC, Hostel 2 (another title prime for PS3 demographic), F4, Die Hard, Simpsons. Wow, those are movies I expect to do very well, and I don't like them all, so I'm not being biased. |

Whats amazing is if you add nuetral and HD-DVD exclusive studios together... they still fall short of the huge exclusive BD studios. Universal does have a nice catalog of "old" titles, but the're not bringing anything "new" to the table. |

The sheer numbers that you mention (in bold) just gives more evidence to BD's dominance. That, too, is just looking at it from a quantity perspective, not even the quality perspective, which is what I was looking at. This fall is going to be great! (Especially factoring in that WB better be putting Batman, Matrix, and V for Vendetta on BD). |

There are so many I will buy on the BD side I don't want to list them all. I would only be interested in 3 from Universal.
Wouldn't be interesting if Time Warner balanced things out by letting New Line Cinema be slightly Blu-ray biased with it's releases (like Warner Bros. has been with HD DVD)? |

Their problem is well documented, they can't get precious replicator time for BD, so they went to HD DVD. Look at Fox, they are having trouble getting time on Sony's replicators, so the situation will only be worse for Weinstein. By December the capacity issues should be sorted though as Sony are building more lines in the States and Europe to cope with the need for BD50s for movies and BD25s for an increasing number of games. |

We need to remember that the movies listed in this thread, which will be out for the holidays, will be coupled with many Fox titles (dependant of course on BD+ being good to go) and WB's HD-DVD releases that they'll finally be putting on BD (Batman, etc.) Talk about domination, this holiday season is going to be utterly apocalyptic for HD-DVD. Batman is still a top 10 for HD-DVD, think about what it will be like on BD, along w/ the other titles this fall! Insanity.

Warner is releasing new releases. But, many key catalog titles have so far been nearly 100% HD DVD exclusive. Even when there isn't IME (e.g. Casablanca and Forbidden Planet). So, I wonder what is Warner's excuse for the non-IME titles that are MIA? Gary |

Something tells me Warners will use the BD+ excuse now for non-IME titles, just to stretch things out. However, they did say they'll be releasing the Matrix later this year, so you can call them on that if they don't do it.
Hopefully by the fall enough writing will be on the wall (ie. BD+ is good to go and Fox is releasing their catalog, imagine if their previously announced titles were out now!). Yea, "believe it when you see it" is the best approach, but I say that if they don't announce Batman and V for the fall, we riot. |

reference or not i`ll take transformers when it hits on BD the selection of hddvd movies is sad though some titles (Evan Almighty and The Bourne Ultimatum)would definitely make nice BD additions ,the fall doesn`t look stellar for hddvd

Weinstein seems to have stopped releasing titles.
Both Hannibal Rising and Arthur and the Incredibles have both been released on DVD now with not a word about an HD DVD release. They have two titles slated for release for the rest of the year right now. Maybe they're waiting for BD+ also? ![]() |

Technically, Warner can start working on Profile 1.1 titles right now. The problem is that all the hardware are still being built and tested. It's a nice problem to have though. Unlike HD-DVD, a) the test discs can be burned on BD-R/RE on either 25GB or 50GB media and; b) these discs have to be beta tested on upcoming PLAYERS from a variety of CE manufacturers. ![]() fuad |
