As long as you are sending all of it PCM, that's all it will say. You can see it change if you bitstream from your PS3, no lossless that way though.

I have the 5300es and the BD30.
1) Make sure the BD30 is connected to the 5300es via HDMI
2) Set the BD30 to bitstream and set secondary audio to off

Your receiver should then properly display the type of audio being played by the BD30. If the BD30 is playing a PCM track it won't show anything but the 5.1 channels. But if you play a TrueHD or DTS-HDMA those settings will display for you.

Got my receiver today and pretty quickly have it set up. Two things if anyone can help

1) My auto-cal gives me an error message that I need to have a quieter room. I don't know if this is because of my subwoofer settings as it is pretty quiet here and, I've even done it and left the room to be completely sure. My subwoofer has all sorts of dials versus the simple explanation in the book. As I was merely repacling my receiver with this one, I didn't want to touch any settings on the SW.

2) The display says GUI MODE all the time, is this normal or is there a way to turn it off.

I realize I still need to read the book but, it was pretty simple to get up and going. I checked everything connected to it and, have no issues including with DD True HD...have to still check DTS Master HD. Thanks for the help and sorry for taking over someones thread but, it's pretty much a dead thread as the answer has been given. No point in starting a whole new thread. Thanks.

when i did the auto calibration it lowered the sub way too low... as far as the gui mode on the remote hit amp then shift then the menu button twice it should say display mode

that worked for the GUI display thanks. Hoping this is going to work with my Harmony Remote. As to my SW. There are three dials, two are mentioned in the book but one is not. It is called Phase. I do not know what this does and have no book for my speaker so don't know where to set it. It is dialed all the way down though. Also, I turned my on/off switch to off and now when I do a test signal I get a noise. Have to rerun Auto-Cal but, will likely wait til tomorrow after I've spent some time with the manual.

All my speakers are from Jamo. I also noticed that it won't let me change my fronts to small, so i'm keeping things set at large for now.
