Default Satellite Radio. XM vs Sirius

I'm thinking about getting Satellite Radio since it'll be cheaper than buying a new deck for my car. Anyone own one and how do you like it? Kinda leaning towards XM because it has more Rock stations than Sirius.

Also anyone know when the merger will happen? because 6.99/mo is better than 12.95/mo any day

I went with the last option!

I am interested in both of them though. I remember hearing about them merging a while back and was waiting for that to happen before I jumped in the pool.

Sirius all the way. I have it and love it. My buddy has XM and most of the stations have flippin commercials! Oh, and with Sirius you get... Howard. That's reason enough to make up your mind.

Sirius is the way to go. I travel quite a bit for my job and have had the opportunity to use both (rental cars). With the exception of not getting ACC sports, I felt that Sirius had the edge on everything, so I subscribed. No regrets what-so-ever.

I would have picked Sirius even if Howard was the only thing they had.

XM, Originally because of the greater depth of music, and now O&A. Howard doesn't do it for me the way he used to. I find O&A to be edgier these days.

That being said, I would wait to see if the merger is approved. It's close. As soon as that happens, see what is being offered and make the leap.

I have 3 Sirius subscriptions (Two cars, and a Stilletto) I love it. If you going to make a decision before the merger, I would go with Sirius.

Two years ago got my wife a Sirius for her vehicle for her birthday. She still says it's the best gift she ever got. Her 40 minute commute used to have only NPR. Now she listens to Martha Stewart radio.

I have XM. I have it for one reason. Baseball.

Supposedly, the two are to merge. But when that happens, hell may have frozen over... or at least Narnia.

I'm a big fan of British bands like the Arctic Monkeys. Do either have a station for UK bands like this?

I was given a year of XM for a Christmas gift. Satellite radio was the best gift I ever got. But, yes, some stations on XM do have commercials. Hopefully that will be the first fix after the merger, as both company's hardware is supposed to work post-merger.

I got XM for Opie and Anthony and yes the rock/metal channels ROCK!!!
I love NFL but thats what directv is for. I would rather watch then listen.

My wife has Sirius for Howard and I kinda like their Hair nation channel.

If the merger goes thru your choice will be easy

If you wait you can get the best of both worlds.
