Battlefield Bad Company Demo, Impressions? - Blu-ray Forum

Just tried the demo tonight and i must say i am truely impressed! The graphics are amazing, very sharp and the textures are great! Also from what i played the frame rate is very steady even when things get busy! The in game videos look nearly as good as the crysis ones! Alos loving the destructible enviroment and the way great chucnks of the ground fly out when mortars hit and the buildings break donw depending on where you shoot

I would realy recommend that you all download this or if you already have tell us what you think!

Im a tempted buyer already!

I played the beta test, frankly it's an awful game compared to the other Battlefields. It's just poor.

There's a bit of eye candy, but the whole thing plays like "COD4- Unfun Version"

Seriously, if you already have COD4, don't bother, if you don't, then buy that instead.

This isn't Battlefield, not even close

Yeah, I just went to download the demo too and it still isn't there (6:30 pm). What's the deal Sony?

Good graphics are a nice thing in a game, but its not always a deal breaker as long as the game is fun to play.....saying that Iam not really a battlefield fan. Its going to take a monster to knock off COD4 as the best online FPS.

P.S. Dont forget double EXP points this weekend again on COD4.........

I love COD4, but aren't you guys tired of playing that game by now? I have about 9 days of playing time, and I can't play it anymore. I welcome a decent new game.

About the demo though, I logged off at 10PM EST and it still wasn't in the store.

Hey guys after I downloaded it, apparently EA sent me a email to email thought I would share.

(I received it at 1.51 am apparently they sent it to me when I first started my game wow registering you without having to fill out any information scary)

I did not hide the dk3dknight thing because well that is my psn id I see no reason to hide it lol...

My impressions of the demo are simple its not bad the class system works I noticed that camouflage actually works in this game, I as a sniper sat in a tall bush and just sniped away and no one was the wiser.. a enemy tank just drove right next to me completely unaware...

I noticed on one game the artillery was way too useful.. anytime one of my allies would look in the general direction of a vehicle helicopter etc it immediatly blew up 100% never missing.. that was kinda annoying..

The only way I could find past them was to cross the river and go around and flank the attackers.. This usually let you steal enemy assets such as a tank as you blow them away.

I think I should have hid and sniped the artillery person every time he got on.. that might have been better for my allies..

The support class is interesting you can repair vehicles and heal infantry, you heal infantry by tossing a medkit.. not actually touching the person but just throwing a med kit which they can run over or catch... or whatever you repair vehicles by going over to them and activating your blow torch, which wont matter since it will blow up in 2 seconds anyway from a artillery on the other side of the map...

It wasn't available last night for the PS3, so I DL it on the Xbox. I wasn't that impressed. I'll try and DL for the PS3 tonight. Maybe I'm not giving it a chance. I play a lot of COD4 and I love that game.

I still remember when I was the second guy in a tank.. the enemy would just wander in front of us turn and look start walking over to our tank looking like
they wanted a hug or something.

The gun on top is very good at removing enemy's seeking a hug.

Sadly overall this makes me miss opfp more, its close but yet still so far away.

The destructible environments are pretty cool...

All-too apparent that it's breaking up in a preset way though. Especially when you blast a brick wall and only a one-man width hole appears.

Another great installment of Battlefield. Looks and plays great. Just what I expected from the Battlefield franchise; a fun game.

I have CoD4 and I love it. Battlefield is just as good. Maybe not as precise, but it's not supposed to be. If you want a War Sim go buy Ghost Recon 2.

I'm definitely buying Battlefield Bad Company. The Demo was what I expected.

i hate the grain in the game WTF!!! i want to turn it off!!!! this is a no buy for me if you cant turn that crap off. in the preview they did on g4 it didnt have grain and they said it looked like one of the best games in graphical terms on both consoles.......yea without the freakin grain!!!! i almosted hated mass effect for this grain reason and thank god you could turn it off. im really starting to hate EA.

This game didnt impress me.

The envirnments are dull on single as well as multiplayer. There is just nothing going on. A few buildings, and then a huge open space, then a few buildings again, huge open space. Ye, the map for multi-player is big, but it cant get any duller than this.

The tanks etc have some funny moments with clumsy driving etc.

The voice acting of the guys in both single player and especially multiplayer was annoying as hell imo.

The problem with dice games is that they always have to be patched around 40 times before they fix the biggest problems....anyone remember BF2??? Oh yeah, and dice counsel games usually suck...anyone remember BF2:MC???? But I will download this demo because I think that BF2 is the best FPS probably ever and I am sure that dice doesn't want another BF2:modern combat. I believe in giving games at least one spin.
