Default Paramount comments on the video bit rate for Transformers....

Quote:
"Because of Blu-ray's expanded capacity, we are able to elevate the bit rate used for the picture as well as present uncompressed audio in the form of Dolby True HD," said Rob Moore, vice chairman of Paramount Pictures.

Good ol' Michael Bay was behind that, mark my words.

Sure, I want September 2 to come. But let the summer drag itself out, please!

Wow. So finally, they admit to Blu-ray's superiority? Anyways, it is welcomed news!

3 long months away. I had the HD-DVD copy and was pleased with it. All this news does is raise my anxiety level. I hate these slow days at work.

Yeah, I had read that when checking out this week's results. Really glad to see that.

It's funny to see Paramount praising Blu-ray when they initially said that HD DVD was the better format for the customer. Glad to see they're dedicated to a quality product now, though. If everything's on par with TWBB and Cloverfield, I'll be loving Paramount. I may even come to love Indy 4 if it's on Blu-ray

Why didn't they say that in August '07? Oh wait...

I look forward to the reviews and wonder how all that will play out (especially if they compare the blu-ray version with the HD DVD). While I guess it's mostly a moot point these days, it still could generate some fireworks. That is, will it make a case for the "good enough" crowd or will it make a case for those of us demanding lossless audio and higher video bitrates?

Given rumors that have spread. I would expect reviewers to RAVE over the lossless audio compared to the HD DVD audio, but reviewers to mostly give a thumbs down to the Blu-ray transfer because of increased grain!

My thoughts exactly.

"so now that this is on blu ray we can make it much better then the previously released hd dvd"

You would think someone put a gun to their head to swith to hd dvd.

Yep, I can see it now...

Was there anyone who believed that press release? (besides all those FUDsters)

It was hilarious.

Especially since days later they admitted that they had to drop a ton of features off upcoming discs due to space limitations.

I'm extremely pleased to see Paramount step up to the plate here--well done! Now, if only Warner would do the same...

It sounds like Michael Bay wasn't just speaking out of his you-know-what when he commented that the BD release of Transformers will be better than the HD-DVD release.

Hey, I'd say VCD was the superior format to all of them if someone gave me 10 million dollars...
