Canada Mortal Kombat on Blu-ray?

Just noticed that Amazon.com has two new placeholders for MK and MK: Annihilation on blu ray. Anyone know anything about these possibly coming?

Yes, the films suck compared to the games, but to me they're mildly enjoyable.

Don't count on it. The next game is going to damage the franchise beyond repair and alienate enough of the fanbase that it'll be cancelled before it can be released.

Apparently youve never played the SUB ZERO RPG for the SNES.

Speak not its name let it appear and destroy us

Seriously, if the other games since MK3 haven't killed the franchise, nothing will

I dont think MK vs DC will do that much damage. And they have kinda been hinting at or trying to work on a new movie for Years. Even before the Kung Lao show was on.

I played that, for Genesis. Being an MK and Sub Zero fan, I actually kinda liked it. I never played the Sonya and Jax one on PS1.

I strongly disagree about the recent games. MK: Deception was the best Mortal Kombat game ever made. Yes, even better than MK 2. To me, MK 4 was about a 2 of 4 stars, Deadly Alliance was 3 of 4 stars, Deception was pure perfection and Armageddon was about 2.5 of 4 stars. It's amazing, I figured that the kreate-a-fatality feature would be the worst thing they'd do in the franchise and after April 17th this year, wowee was I sadly mistaken and yes, MK vs DC will be the judge, jury and executioner for this franchise.

Then you were the only damn one who did, that game was beyond awful, and impossible without cheating.

I know it wasnt the best game, and the Live Action cut scenes were not that great. But I still liked it. I did beat it, I cant remember if I used codes or not.

Movie wise, yes. Video game wise, MK3 was the best, or UMK3. After that it just got silly.

I dont see these movies being high priority for a release, unless for certain a third film is being made, then I can see why they would want to, but I just dont see these being hot sellers, or luke warm sellers for that matter.

I meant video game wise. MKIII did nothing but add a stupid combo system into the game similar to the already combo king at the time Killer Instinct.

Count me in as a fan of the Sub-zero game. Was fun. THe little mini movie scenes were a little cheesey with some real bad acting, but I thought it was a fun game overall.

And I doubt MK vs DC will kill the franchise.

As far as the blu-ray release for the movie, I hope they release it seperate from MK and not bundled together because I did not enjoy Annilation at all.

I would buy the first Mortal Kombat movie on Blu-ray. I actually thought it was pretty good. However, all copies, including the master, of MK: Annihilation should be set on fire, and forgotten.

To me Mortal Kombat: Annihilation is one of the greatest examples of false advertising. The trailers looked awesome showcasing what may have been a worthy sequel, yet the movie itself was an absolute disaster. If there is a 3rd one coming I certainly won't have any expectations for it. Who knows, we may even be pleasantly surprised by it.

Oh man, I loved the games, well the old ones at least. I stopped playing video games a while ago (besides GTA). Last one I had was MK Trilogy for N64 (At least I think that was the name). The one where you could be all characters from all the games. Speaking of combos, I never really did catch on to the combo system in Killer Instinct.

And yeah the first movie wasn't bad at all for a video game adaptation. Better than Street Fighter. But Annihilation was just not good at all.
