Default Blair Witch Project on Blu-ray?

It's about time they release this on Blu-ray...it's one of the greatest and most popular horror movies, surprised they still haven't released it.

I am assuming the thread is a joke because you are one of the "the only things that should be on blu are the things that I think are worth it" people but I will play anyway.
I very much agree.
You will get the ones hitting the thread soon with their "that movie sucked" or "blu wouldn't do anything for it" but I would love to see it cleaned up a little and the audio could be awesome with lossless.

I am drunk as a matter of fact, but can assure you has nothing to do with the thread. Blair Witch is brilliant and want it on Blu-ray as soon as f****** possible!

To those who didn't like it, it's obviously your opinion of it, but were there any scenes at all that scared you?

no. actually there weren't. BUT thats because someone was talking during the whole thing and spoiled EVERYTHING!

"Hey watch this something scary will pop up on the left hand side!"

BOOM! it did. no surprises at all.

Not bashing anyone's opinions at all, just giving mine:

I thought it accomplished more than any other horror film to date has done with so little. Just shows that a movie with no special effects can be infinitely more horrifying. The fact that you get to hear the characters talking the whole time, which is not only extremely realistic and perfectly acted, it also means you're getting to know the characters, which in turn makes it all the more scarier when the bad things are happening to them. It builds up suspense ever so subtly then throws it at you near the end. Intense stuff, and that's what I think makes it so great.

Yeah had that happening in the theater I went to also, luckily I had already seen it a few nights before at a preview.

Yeah, but you seem to be expecting more than is required. To show some zombie or ghost covered in blood would not only lower the quality of everything previous shown in the film, but just wouldn't be realistic enough to be scary. The only film I've ever seen which has pulled that off successfully is The Descent.

I think that movie would have so much (purposeful) grain it would take away from the "blu-ray" quality, you might as well just keep it on standard dvd.

I disagree. The standard DVD release of this film has absolutely awful picture quality. It barely even resembled what I saw in theatres. It will still look grainy, and probably won't even look as good as Cloverfield, but the video on the DVD looks like something compressed and burnt to a 4gb blank DVD using Nero.

Quite true, it had a really baseline quality dvd release and as far as I know has never seen a quality release with any real thought put into it yet.
Any improvement would be worth it.
