I don't know about you guys/girls, but I'm not being forced to buy anything. I enjoy buying BD's and don't ever plan on purchasing another dvd. I think it's great this will allow me to watch my existing dvd collection at a higher, upscaled res, but forced? NAH BUDDAY!

No, you missed my point. Not forced to buy it because I dont want Blu-Ray.

I meant because I ahve 300+ Dvd's, and dont watch any of them. SO I buy alot of BluRay moviez just to have something to watch, when alot of good moviez arent out.

All the best moviez are still standard Dvd, do thus, to enjoy watching something on the weekend I ahve to go buy a BluRay movie, that really isnt a must buy, because my favorites arent available in Blu-Ray.

u can upscale a DVD all u want but will never ever look as good as a Blu Ray.......regardless if its 1080p, and dont give me crap that u can't tell between a blu ray and upscaled DVD....that just means your vision prolly indeed...sucks!....lol.....but the one thing that blu ray has that Dvds do not is the increase in the sound quality

Upscaleinng will never compare to Bluray, dont think any1 will argue that.

But it will get u buy, until more releases come to Bluray.

I can't wait to watch Final Fantasy VII : Advent children again with upscaling. Well until the announced blu-ray one gets released.

LOTR Twin Towers now have color to it.

Way better.

FUll Scaling made it look nice. Double Scaling is good too.

B4, the color was dull, now its years ahead. Still some breakdown, but WAYYYYYY better than b4.

Also, remote access to all your songs are cool and easy.

Just go to your Windows Player 11, Tools, Options, Library, and it will easily pick up PS3 as unknown device.

Thanks for the info Terren2000! Just finished downloading it. Also noticed in BD/DVD settings there is a new BD 1080p 24HZ output (hdmi). (sets the playback method for BD's recorded at 24 Hz frames/second). Is this another update people wanted? I haven't noticed it before.

Yea I saw that, but no 1080P tv. Im only 720p.

This is good, but I was trying to play DVD on my PS3 (actually it was LOTR: Return of the King) and right after that on my 1080p upscaling Yamaha 1700 DVD player and I have to say that the difference was realy slight - mostly due to the fact, that I suppose that in the case of PS3 playback the upscaling was done by my Samsund 40" Full HD TV.

But still its far from BRD image quality...

But still, more options to choose from when deciding who will do the upscaling.

Will Socom 2 "ONLINE" run at 1080p or will the upconvert only single player mode?

Just give the PS3 internet access and go to system update.
