Wow...didn't expect that much of a backlash from one person, I thought it would be piece by piece from a crapload of people. Maybe my "small little brain" forgot to re-state several things from my post (so as to hammer them in to yours). Such as: "I thought it was an entertaining movie that was groundbreaking for it's time," or "It was definitely a good movie," as well as "It definitely deserves to be on the list," along with "I didn't grow up with them like everyone else," and most importantly "I may just need a repeated viewing of the series when I buy the Blu boxset."

I thought I put enough in the first post to cover all of that....I did, didn't I?
I thought it was an excellent movie and I see why people loved it, but it just seems overrated when compared to the other entries in the series. "Raiders" is the only one that constantly gets praised while the others are torn apart and spat on by the fans because they aren't "Raiders" or better. Even "The Last Crusade" seems forgotten when compared to the massive love from the fans. The even numbered entries get no love at all, while I found they all had something to like.

"Raiders"

"The other 3"

Just to be safe, let me make it clear: It was a good movie that is just a tad bit overrated.

I know I am going to get flamed hard for this, but I think that There Will Be Blood was very overrated.

I don't understand why everyone thinks it is so great. It was a mediocre film at best, long, boring, really bizarre music playing the entire time, that sounded like some kind of B horror film, the film nearly putting me to sleep.

I know that people are going to say that I just did not understand the film, that is not it at all, I got it, I just wasn't impressed by it. I think No Country for Old Men was more entertaining, and I didn't particularly like that film either.

I am convinced that I hate whatever the critics like. So if Siskel and Ebert, or Ebert and Roeper, or whatever they are called now like it, I will probably hate it.

To be honest, I haven't seen a really good film in along time, except for Iron Man.

Well here goes, clicking submit reply.

to me a really good film is No country for old men. Iron man was a good blockbuster / action movie.

i haven't seen there will be blood yet but i have been looking forward to it, i didn't hear anything about it other than people saying it was better in the no country for old men threads. lol

Quantitatively, it's 'Titanic':
$1.842 Billion worldwide gross for a piece of garbage snoozefest.

And then having to listen to how many times your girlfriend saw it, and how "in love with Leo" she is. Gah!

Yep, really stirs up a lot of negative feelings. Never could sit through the whole thing. I've bailed out of places where people decided they were going to watch it. You'd literally have to pay me a hefty sum to watch it.

Default Most overrated movie goes to....

I don't know about you guys but her are some movies I think are totally overratted...

Flags of our Fathers
Million Dollar baby
What about Mary
Bladerunner
Hulk (Remake)
Juno

I could go on but I think the biggest, most overratted movie of all time is:

Star Wars...

...just kidding...that spot goes to Titanic....

I agree with Juno, Titanic, and Million Dollar Baby.

Let's add:
There Will be Blood
Lost in Translation
In the Bedroom
Gosford Park
Chicago (there is never aplace and time for musicals, except for maybe Cannibal, the musical)
Fight Club

I'll go back to 1985 for Out of Africa. Nominated for 11 Oscars, won 7 and is absolutely the most boring movie you have ever seen. Great cinematography, but a shallow love story. Constantly listed in the top 100 films.

I would add Titanic to the list as well.
Gotta disagree with Blade Runner, but to each his own.
Haven't seen Juno, but I have a feeling I've seen this flick before.

List of movies that don't suit my personal taste:

[Highly Critically Acclaimed Film]
[Classic that is loved by "everybody"]
[Cult Classic]
[Notable Blu-ray Title]
[Obvious choice that everyone will agree with]

There is my list, other lists in this thread will follow similar format.

BladeRunner is a fantastic movie..... and it didn't need Blu-Ray to expose it to the younger generations either.... it was great on DVD, it was great on VHS, and now it's Great on Blu Ray.... Maybe it's just not your type of film....

If that's how you're basing "overrated" my vote would go to anything having to do with Lord of the Rings, or Harry Potter.
