Yep. I was right. Same shitty logo. I don't understand whats wrong with the original Bat logo for the film. *sigh*

Still buying it lol.

Batman (1989) is not going to look any better than it already does on blu-ray. So therefore, it not worth the upgrade to me. I can do without all the special features, and so forth. I'll stick with my $8.00 release!

Thin cardboard package that folds out with lots of art on it. See the Gremlins thread or the news article on Green Mile.

So can we definitely rule out a new transfer sourced from a fresh 4K scan of the negative?

Cool

"Holy rehash Batman!"

The industry does nothing more than offer a new cover and throw the exact same discs in them.

We are at a point where with classic films, there are basically no more extras that can be put on them without rehashing the same BTS information etc.

I'm a bit confused. Are they giving the new feature its own disc, or what? As the 20th was only one disc. I'll say this, though, it's a missed opportunity not including the deleted scenes. Especially considering that some of them (Batman and the little girl) were literally shown in some of the featurettes on the previous releases.

Suffice it to say, I own a VHS, the DVD Anthology, and the 20th Anniversary Blu. I can't see myself shelling out $25 for this. I'll probably wind up biting at Black Friday two years from now, when it's on sale for $5 or something. It's kind of sad, though. It already seems like a piss poor rehash, but releasing it the same day as the TV Show makes it seem like an afterthought. So much for 25 years, huh?

Yes, it definitely would have been mentioned if it were a new transfer.

These rereleases never get new scans and they should. Especially titles the studios know will sell. Or, they could start mastering these films right the first time around. There's a thought huh?

I think at some point it's inevitable for 4K (whether 4K Blu, streaming, downloading) that Warner is going to start remastering it's more popular selling/rehashed catalog titles. I would think Batman would certainly qualify. However, with that said...I haven't watched this in a long time, let alone projected, but I seem to recall the current disc was a pretty decent transfer? Maybe my opinion would change now if I saw it though.

Yeah, Batman and Batman Returns both have very well done transfers. People complain about some aspects of them but it's inherent to the original elements, not a transfer issue.

why don't they put the deleted scenes on any of these flms? i don't get it. people will no doubt buy it if they do that. and maybe get rid of their old copies. i love the (1989) batman film myself.

I've only seen that deleted scene where Batman saves the little girl and she says to him"I didn't know it was Halloween". I would really like to see a recent interview with Michael Keaton talking about the film since he didn't do anything for the last release. Everyone did current interviews except The Batman.

I wish they would, hell. Batman is ok but has had some filtering. Batman returns on the other hand looks fantastic.

I do like the cover, but the blue, almost icy background seems more fitting for Returns. Hate the "Diamond Luxe" BS emblazoned across the top though, awful. So much potential, a Keaton commentary or interview, anything. The competist collector in me will get this, but not for a few years.
