^ That's not a German film at all. As for the region, you can only check on that site that's stickied on the "what region is this?" thread. I doubt anyone has that here that can confirm it for you.

Actually, after going over the thread again, I think I misinterpreted what this thread is about. Sorry about that.

^ Bist du Deutscher? What's wrong with Keino? I like Til Schweiger but I haven't seen many of him films. Is Die Welle good? It got high ratings on IMDB.

No official announcement on the subtitles... I heard that the DVD is slated to have English subs which would be the same for the BD. I hope it has English subs too. I would like to show it to my friends if it is a good film.

I forgot to mention one more title:

Der Rote Baron
22 August, 2008.

Anyone know if that film is good? Til is also in it. It's a film about WWII.

Oh, and for something rather unrelated. It looks like Germany will be the first country to have a Russian BD release:

19 September

Yeah, i am German. Keinohrhasen, though i admit i haven't seen it, got very bad reviews all around for being a rather uninspired and unoriginal romantic comedy. For some reason this doesn't reflect in the rather high imdb rating. I am not a fan of Til Schweiger, in fact he has been pretty annoying for me in each and every film i have seen him in, so this might also explain my bias against the film.

Die Welle is very good, looking forward to it.

Hi All,

Not sure if you all use this site, but releaselists.com has a Region Code link on the left side.

Also, Neverending Story (Unendliche Geschichte) is out on Blu. I grew up in Germany, and I still love this movie. May not originally be German, but Michael Ende rocks, and I just received this yesterday. PQ is not as clean as I would have hoped, but it's nice to have it at a relatively low price (under $28, xploitedcinema.com).

It doesn't even have a release date yet. How do you expect anyone to know?

DJ, there are a few possible release dates-such as Amazon.de's in December. Sometimes depending on the studio or distributor, it can be clear ahead of time if it will be region-free or not. Just thought I'd ask if they have a history of releasing region-free movies.

http://www.amazon.de/Die-Welle-Limit...3758291&sr=8-1

www.releaselists.com has a region code link, and release dates for international blues, that also lists some as Region ABC, in advance of release-I thought this may be one of those region free films.

Have a good night/day!

Downfall / Der Untergang BD has been added to Amazon.de. If it is only a placeholder or actually a real release remains to be seen. I am not aware of any announcements for this film, but it would be awesome on Blu.

Have been to Germany in 2006 and stocked up on some DVDs, most I bought online though, because there was such a big price difference. However, when there are sales going on, you might find some titles cheaper in stores or in some kind of bargain bins (those are mostly older releases though)
I also ordered from www.froeschl.de which is www.temeon.de now. Also good prices, bit slower shipping than Amazon though.
i work at saturn. Actually there are often discs that are 5-10€ cheaper than amazon.de. At amazon.com and amazon.co.uk the Blu Ray Disc Prices have gone down enormously. Amazon.de has yet to follow that trend.

Default Die Fälscher

The movie that won Austria the oscar for best foreign film, "die Fälscher" or "The Counterfeiters" will hit Blu Ray on August 5th.

Sadly only in the USA.

Here is the link to amazon.com

The movie has not been dubbed though. It's still in German. With English, French and Spanish subtitles.

It's supposed to be region free.

If you ask yourself why it will only be released on BD in the States. Here is the answer: The companies releasing the Movie in Europe are mostly small Companies. They don't have the money to release it on Blu Ray. Even though the German Distributor is UFA and the had some decent HD-DVD and Blu Ray Releases. Maybe they don't see the movie as a good prospect.

In the States it's gonna be released by Sony.

So if you want it, just click on the link I supplied and order it
