Not Weinstein exactly, but their video distributor Genius Products has announced Lonesome Dove for BD on Aug. 5.

Who knows, maybe it will sell 10m copies and Genius will decide they want to release their entire catalog on BD... well, it could happen.

Yes, and Toshiba could announce tomorrow that Blu-ray is FAR superior than SUC could ever hope to be...

That being said, rumors have been going around that "The Mist" (and "1408") would be coming to Blu-ray this year. If true, I would imagine Weinstein would want to release these in the September/October timeframe.

Weinstein is supposed to be releasing on Blu the second half of this year. If that is indeed the case, I can see Halloween (2007) being released in October.

They announced a while back that they would start releasing titles during the second half of this year. I suspect sept/oct time frame for first batch. I wouldn't expect many titles from them this year though, but I could be wrong about that

It seems Weinstein is about the only one missing, even Magnolia is back in the fray come august (after their several month disappearing act).

I DVR"d it when it was on one of the HD movie channels. It looks a little better then the DVD. The heavy gain really show. I can hear the masses *****ing about that.
