It was shown in IMAX outside of the US.

I agree! I pre-ordered the Zavvi Steelbook. But, I'd be all over a Imax version.

Just did some light research on this. Apparently, Luc Besson used IMAX cameras (not sure if film or digital), but the movie was presented in 2.40:1 everywhere. Why bother with IMAX cameras if he wasn't going to use a taller ratio?

I was torn about if I wanted to see this or not. Is it worth a blind buy?

Can't answer your question, unfortunately, since I didn't see it. But I know that I am definitely blind buying it.

I really like Besson. I really like Johansson. It's pretty much a must get for me.

I would say this is worth a watch, probably blind buy, to anyone who falls into either, or especially both, of these camps.

Man. I figured it'd be November 11th.
The 17th of January is on a Saturday though. The U.K. is getting in on January 12, so maybe the 13th for N.A?

Oh okay. Cool. I mean, I wish it wasn't that far away. MovieStop and the folks that worked there said that they had the November 11th date set down. Guess they were wrong.

I'd be very careful about blind buying this. I finally caught it this weekend and it was one of the worst movies I've seen all year. Probably worse than Transcendence(at least that initially had some interesting ideas before going nowhere with them). Oddly enough, both featured Morgan Freeman in a small role and both dealt with super-intelligent beings who are so smart they can control matter with their minds.

And if/when you do see it, be prepared for a sci-fi flick and not an action movie. The marketing campaign was grossly misleading(and no, that's not why I hated it).

So pleased that this little $40M movie is going to make over $400M by the end of its run and turn Scarlet into a bonafide action star. Great movie.

I work in a video rental store (still exist in Canada) and we never have the good date for any goddam movie. I get better date from here.

Lucy is already showing up online as a webrip so that usually means its fixing to be released I think but i could be wrong I guess. Hoping its coming out soon. I plan to buy it as I loved Scarlett's acting in this.

That January date makes no sense. Universal is going to avoid releasing its 2nd biggest Summer film during the busiest shopping quarter of the year?
