It can sometimes take a few weeks for Marketplace sellers to get stock. They're not partners with Amazon (just third-party sellers), as far as I know. It would be over the £15 limit and I can never work out if those particular sellers are customs friendly (they say they aren't).

I've only just got season2 from Amazon. I'll wait for season 3 to hit $19.99 and pick it up. I'm not sure if I should watch the last few episodes of season one before going into the second season, do I need a recap?

I had a check on a couple of other releases out that week, Draft Day and The Originals and they're available. Star Trek Compendium is available too. I'd wait until next week, it is unusual (The Originals is a WB release too). If you use Expedited Shipping with Amazon.com they'll pay the import VAT for you, it will arrive quicker and you'll avoid the Royal Mail handling fee.

It's $10 for shipping plus you are guaranteed the 20% VAT charge but doing this you avoid the £8 RM customs handling fee if they catch a non prepaid VAT parcel.

You have the choice

(A) $42.99 at Amazon plus cheapest $6.48 shipping = $49.47 / 1.6646 customs f/x rate for Sept = £29.72

If caught by customs you pay 20% VAT on the purchase price plus shipping = £5.94 plus £8 RM Handling Fee; makes Total £43.66

(B) Pay VAT upfront with Amazon, you do this automatically with the expedited middle price shipping option

You have a price of ($42.99 + $9.98 shipping) x 1.2 for VAT using same customs rate / 1.6646; makes £38.19

Note the actual USD rate is now around 1.60 as the pound continues to fall, but rate I quote above is the rate customs use for September.

Therefore pre paying the VAT costs £8 more than the standard shipping option, but saves you £5 compared to if the parcel caught by customs.

I was just going to post! It's the 10-disc set too:

Not sure if it will drop to $19.99 but for a few pound it's not worth waiting.

Does anyone else think this is getting beyond a joke now? Channel 5 have still not shown season 3 yet and keep pushing it back. I am starting to wonder if it will be shown at all now.

It's probably even further down the queue as C5 have bought NCIS New Orleans and CSI:Cyber which they will both consider as higher rating shows, although The Mentalist is on its final half season and CSI is rumoured to be cancelled as well.

C5 never liked POI but then it struggled to get a UK TV home as all the channels held off for a year to see if it would be renewed before bidding. Hence we are so far behind most other countries with it.

Its shocking!! I love the show but were now all of season 3 and 16 episodes of season 4 behind the US, they piss around with the show, taking huge mid season breaks for no reason, falling further and further behind, the main bulk of the fanbase find other ways to watch and then they wonder why the number of people watching is so low

If they don't think the ratings are good enough I don't know why they don't burn it off on 5USA that has other recent shows like Chicago PD.

However do we know for certain C5 have a life of show deal like for their other CBS shows including CSI and The Mentalist. They could have dropped it ?

Everything I've heard indicates Person of Interest being slightly more expensive than C5's other shows, because they waited to see if it was popular before they brought it, so burning it off on 5USA or giving it a completely awful slot isn't really an option.

Because of the amount of money spent on Gotham (apparently there was a bidding war), that had to get a slot fairly early in the year, and the CSIs and The Mentalist are popular so they would probably get priority, leaving POI as the bastard stepchild that has to take what it's given...

And widespread as piracy is, I don't think most broadcasters factor that in, and it wouldn't surprise me if a lot people didn't bother watching at US pace, meaning C5 aren't losing that much by waiting...

And C5 do definitely have the rights to season 3, from their Programming FAQs:
Quote:
What has happened to Person Of Interest?

Series 2 of Person Of Interest concluded on Thursday 22nd May. We have secured the rights to Series 3, and it is likely this will be shown early this year. However, no dates have currently been confirmed
