I am the same way... in fact I was that was back when I had a LD player (laserdisc). I wouldn't watch anything pan & scan (and still try not to). My co-workers would all call me a "movie snob"... but when I would get LD exclusives (director's cut of Aliens/Abyss, etc) they would be the first ones over to watch...

Its great going around work telling them how much better I am than they are because my home entertainment system is superior to theirs!

? Go to the audo section and see who's willing to go the next step. Beta Man said it best - you can have all the best tech, newest codecs, 7.2 ect... but if your speakers are junk - you still have a mess

Was I a jerk for wanting to kill off HD DVD? No because I thought it was the only realistic solution to get every studio making maxed out Blu-rays with lossless audio on every release.

These types of whiners are just pissed because they have been missing out while we have been enjoying the best there is (since Jan 2007 for me).

That's what I feel a lot of people are doing.... people come here and say "what is best for me" and 20 people with HTIB's say "oh you have to have HD MA etc etc... because you've been missing out, and your not getting the best audio like me" when the person may have some very nice vintage gear, that I'm sure blows away the "7.1 audio-snob's" system away.

Of course if everyone had Klipsch's connected to an Onkyo we'd all get along right?

Wow.... that's hilarious, you must be a comedian, you took something that was from a well known movie, that did not pertain to this instance at all, and made it make even less sense, and made it offensive to gay people.
