Kicker Comp VR's are some of the best subs for the money. If you are interested I actually have some that I'm selling. They are still new in box. I have pictures if you would like to see them.

You are best taking your ride to a "PRO" AND BY "PRO" I'm not talking about Circuit city and Best Buy. A custom car audio shop will/should have demo vehicles at site. It may be their own ride or a clients vehicle that will come by if you are serious. They will also have a picture album to look through.

It is easy to screw your car and gear up.

I should also add: If you do the install yourself get a "stiffening capacitor" or two for the amp/s used for your sub/s. It will help your amp.

there are car audio websites with DIY pages.

Subs are only for your lows, to give you bass. They are not meant to produce voice. You will replace your original car speakers with the new ones. The sub will be in a box in the trunk of your car.

Here is a site that sells for a good price. I have purchased from them before.

Looking for less than 3000 bucks. And having nice appearence.
I've got one for sale for ya... I'm selling a JL Audio 10" subwoofer in a JL Audio sealed box. Along with it comes a JBL 300 watt amp. I've had both for about 2 years and bought them brand new. With your budget you may be looking for like 2 twelves or something, but these are great brands and will do anything you ask of them. They can be yours for $250 plus shipping from Seattle to wherever you are.

Eclipse's quality has fallen drastically since they entered the mass market. Alpine has done the same. IMO, Pioneer Premier is the only way to go anymore for head units, unless you're going really high-end like Nakamichi.

I know it's your opinion and that's fine. No disrespect. Just like those who prefer something more. Whatever you decide to get it ought be satisfying to you and no one else. If you would say Pioneer Elite TVs or home audio I wouldn't disagree. Get what is best for you and your budget.

Alpine and Eclipse make extremely nice hi-end head units. Nakamichi is top of the line like Alpine and Eclipse. Pioneer Premier is almost just a rebadge. Still good but...... go and check them out and see when picking out headunits. Guarantee you will love Alpine and Eclipse.

I'm sorry, but I can almost guarantee you that no one serious about car audio is going to say that a) Alpine or Eclipse are what they used to be and b) they even belong in the same league as brands such as Nakamichi and McIntosh, unless you're dealing with the F#1 line.

Compare an Alpine 9835 to anything that has followed it and I think it's pretty obvious that quality has gone down. Same with Eclipse. Ever since they entered Best Buy and Circuit City there have been obvious dips in quality.

Also, Pioneer's Premier line is only for mobile. Elite is their home line

I know I'm just a tard sometimes and should read what I write. I'm sure you have mispoke before too. Anyhow I'm sure you knew I meant "ELITE".

What else can you compare Eclipse and Alpines top of the line CD Reciever models to? If you are talking about AV recievers you can compare Pioneer Premier to Alpine and Eclipse. Are you saying the top of the line Alpine and Eclipse CD recievers aren't well made and are bad quality? Just because they aren't exclusively sold at boutique car audio shops like Nakamichi and Mcintosh, doesn't mean they suck. They only make car audio gear and are in the business of making money to stay alive. Nakamichi and Mcintosh don't just make car audio so they can do whatever they like just as Pioneer.

Alpine, Eclipse, and Pioneer premier all have budget friendly models. The OP didn't even say anything about head units to begin with. I just suggested getting one and recomended Alpine and Eclipse. I guess if we were talking about AV head units I definetley would recomend pioneer Premier with them but I'm assuming audio only and not video. All we are doing is recomending. I dont know if the OP even lives in an area where he can find a Mcintosh and Nakamichi dealer so thats why I recomend Alpine and Eclipse for cd recievers.

when it comes to Pioneer and Pioneer Premier especially CD receivers they are too close in capabilities and basicaly are the same. Hence the rebadge comment. It's not a diss at Pioneer Premier it's just what Pioneer does. Same way car manufacturers use many common parts in different model lines.

We recomend what we recomend. You can diss Alpine and Eclipse and I can defend them. I use to work for two car audio shops Future Sound in Stuebenville,OH for Mark Ligget(Out of Business) and at PJs Autosound in Erie PA for Drew Williams and (Youngstown,OH location that went under for a few reasons and one of them being: because of places like Best Buy and Circuit City being able to sell some of the same brands as we carried for less.)

You like Apples and I like Oranges. Certainly no big deal. In my opinion top of the line Alpine and Eclipse "CD Receivers" are better than Pioneer Premiers "CD Receivers".

Sorry Beta,

My former urban youth self still remains in that form - if you pass by Miami, you might happen to run into me and that will happen to you. Let me know in advance if you're ever in South Florida,

If you want to get something simple that sounds good, best buy or the other big box stores are usually the easiest, unless you know a good high end store that's been recommended.....

but for ease and around $3k, i'd try...

headunit $699
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1199496560410

fronts $249
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1202649959021

rears $169
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1202650463355

sub $279
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1202650467630

amp-speakers $499
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1199494646397

amp-sub $399
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1199494646259

accessories & installation $200-$300

Total = approx $2500.

This system would sound good, i've had high end Infinity components and fosgate subs in my last car and they sounded nice.. again.. this is a good system for a decent price and would could probably be done in one day... good luck.

You would be hard pressed to do better than Alpine.

Alpine decks need a lot of work, but the rest of the line is outstanding. I hated my deck, so I replaced it.

For bump you want some JL or MTX if you want a LOT of bump for your buck.

If you want sound quality, Alpine has better range, and is VERY tight, but not a lot of "bump bump."

I did all Alpine, and I love it. Mine Type R (R-Type?). Now they have X, and I have no money, but X is very nice, but I have no idea how they are vs their price.

When I stop next to people like you, it takes all my will power to not turn up my music louder. "Boils my blood!" Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

If it's too loud, you're too old.

Boom.
