28 days later was shot on a digital camera with a resolution of 720x576. It can't get any better in terms of PQ. However the sound is greatly increased in the BD version. Worth it if you're a sound junkie like me.

28 weeks later looks muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch better. A very nice transfer.

While 28 Days Later isn't wonderful PQ wise (although it looks exactly like it should), I felt the purchase was justified for the audio upgrade.

Most of 28 days later was shot on a PAL digital camcorder and therefore had to be upconverted to 1080p digitally by the studio before putting it on Blu, just like your PS3 or other upscaling player would do to a SD-DVD. If you look close there are a few short scenes where film was used and you can notice a significant improvement in picture quality during those scenes. Just like grain is used in some movies on purpose, that was how the director intended it to look, to give it a more raw feeling, but without the jerkiness of Blairwitch or Cloverfield. I still found it to be an enjoyable watching experience on blu.

My expectations were high after the RE movies. I had to have the move though. Next off to Dawn and Day of the Dead.

Yes, 28 Days Later was intended to come out as that quality. The sound quality is really good as well.

I have 28 Weeks Later also, and the picture quality of that is improved, in scenes that do not involve any infected.

The director has stated that he wanted the picture to be "infected" whenever there are infected on screen.

28 Weeks Later also has great audio quality as well.

I respect FOX for presenting a movie on Blu-Ray as the director has intended for it to be.

I love this movie. I DO wish though that directors would stop making movies with enhanced grain and and all of the other PQ things messed with on this movie. It appears overly saturated in certain scenes and like the contrast is way out of whack at times.

I'm good with movies like 300 as the effects that were used seemed completely appropriate for this movie. However, in 28 weeks, I see very little need for trying to give it a "Look" which I feel added nothing beneficial to the movie at all.

One of my top 10 favorite Horror movies though! And yes, the AQ and it's dynamics blows you out of your seat!

This is the best the PQ is ever going to look... and exactly the way it should look. However, the last portion of 28 DL was shot in 35mm and really pops on the blu-ray.

Also, the sound is fan-flippin'-tastic.

28 WEEKS LATER looks and sounds awesome.

Both blu's are well worth owning

That is exactly what I thought when I first saw the movie. I looked it up and realized that is how it was intended to look. If you notice the end of the movie the picture quality is superb.

Btw.. the jet scene are awesome in 28 Weeks Later. On Cloverfield it's the Ground Army attack scene that rocked and was one of the most impressive sound experience i ever had....(in cinema that is)..

It's not the transfer. The last 5 mins of 28 Days Later was shot on film and looks awsome on blu-ray.

I'd give it 3.0 as I only rented it. The overall look was intended as stated by some folks and I suppose the quality could have been a bit better. I liked the film but thought the second one was better for content and obviously much better for PQ.

Default 28 days later?

what's wrong with this movie? pQ and aQ?

i saw 28 weeks later and it was pretty stunning, but for some reason, lot of people have told me that 28 days later isn't all that good and the picture quality is not much to compare to its dvd version.

just thinking of picking up Speed and 28 days later at Circuit city that's all.

Have you seen it before, because the PQs before weren't stunning. I believe it was purposely done like that.

I think 28 Days Later is much better than its sequel, 28 Weeks Later...
