Default Denon 2808CI / Abes of Maine question

I am interested in the Denon 2808CI and it is at good price right now from Abes of Maine. $789.99 and comes with a 3 year repair tech warranty for free. I was wondering is Abes of Maine an authorized seller? and has anyone bought anything from them? Just want to know about some experiences. I am looking at pairing this with the Aperion Speakers (intimus 5C- center, 5B - left/right, 4B - surrounds and Bravus 10D - sub) Any comments/recommendations of this setup will be greatly appreciated/hated

Doesn't appear that Abe's is an authorized dealer. Probably why they are offering the warranty to the denon.

But about the speakers... As you can see from my sig, I basically have the same setup besides surrounds and sub.

When you set up your system DO NOT use the auto calibration. Set it up manually, setting the crossovers for the following:

5C = 60hz
5B = 80hz
4B = 100 or 120Hz

Turn sub crossover to full and volume on sub to a little less than half..

If you receive a SPL meter with your setup you can then use that to set your speaker levels. I guesstimate the distances.

With that receiver you will thoroughly enjoy those speakers .. I know I am..

I bought a Yamaha Receiver and 5 disc DVD player from them maybe 3 1/2 years ago at an awesome price. Eveything came doubled boxed and factory sealed. They were authorized Yamaha, just give them a call they will tell you if they are an authorized Denon dealer. They will also price match from a lot of their competition.

Abes of Maine is in NY or Mass. if I rember and have been in business a good while now. They are an actual store too and not just an etailer.

Good luck!

I purchased a Pioneer plasma from them with the repair tech warranty.

No problems with them at all and they were actually very helpful when i was trying to clarify the warranty service with repair tech.

I was experiencing a slight buzzing with the Pioneer and I called repair tech to schedule someone to come out. They initially told me that i needed to direct my inquiry to abes of maine since it was within 30 days of the purchase date. I called abes and they got on the phone with repair tech and situated the problem. A local rep came out to my place a few days later.
