Default Denon 2808Ci and PS3 audio connection

I have a Denon 2808Ci and a PS3 connected through HDMI and all the settings on both units seem to be correct.
When I set the PS3 to PCM/Linear output, the receiver reads"Multi Channel In", switching over to bitstream the receiver reads "Dolby Digital" or "DTS Surround".
My problem is i can't get the receiver to display Dolby True HD or DTS HD MA.
Denon is telling me I need a BD player that BITSTREAMS lossless audio(Dolby True HD or DTS HD MA) , which the PS3 is not able of doing.
Question: With the receiver showing "Multi Channel In" am i listening to the lossless formats?

Yes, just be sure the PS3 is set to Linear PCM.

Select the correct audio in the movie menu, then during the movie hit the "select" or "display" button. This will show you what audio is being output.

Thanks for the reply.
I actuall tried that, on the Denon remote it's the "standard" button, pushing it takes you through the different surround modes(rock stadium etc) but still no Dolby True HD display

im sorry, I should have been more specific.

The "select" or "display" button on the PS3 remote.

Since the PS3 will be doing the decoding, you receiver will always display "Multichannel PCM".

this is the part where you would need a bluray player that can bitstream TrueHD and Dts-HD MA, then your receiver would display them correctly.

But the PS3 is decoding the audio first into a PCM signal, which is sent to the receiver as Linear PCM.

It is displayed as TrueHD on the PS3, but shows as PCM on the receiver.

Got it! The main reason I got the PS3 is as a BD player, I am currently looking at the Sony 350..The Panasonic BD50 or the Sony 550 coming up in the fall, all of which can do what you say.
Do you happen to know if i can do wireless with any of those players?( I know all have ethernet ports)
