Default Surprise Namco JRPG coming for PS3?

Nobody saw it coming, and it is still a rumor, but according to a scan of a Japanese Game Mag, Namco would prepare to anounce a new entry in the "Tales of" series, exclusively for PS3.

Quote:
Based on a Japanese mag scan, it looks like PS3 will gets its own Tales of game that will “take advantage of the system’s power”. The scan (larger version after the jump) shows Tales of Symphonia: Knight of Ratatosk, Tales of Vesperia and a mysterious upcoming PS3 Tales of game. Further below, a huge title teasing an announcement event to be held on “X Day of July”.

This will probably be an all new entry in the series as it’s unlikely that Namco organize an event just to re-announce Trusty Bell: Chopin no Yume (aka Eternal Sonata) and the chances of them announcing Tales of Vesperia PS3 port right before it’s August release on Xbox 360 is almost zero. PS3 really needs more RPGs and this, if true, will be the greatest news for me and all JRPG fans.

Why is the chances of them announcing a PS3 version prior to the 360 release near zero?

They've been saying from the beginning that a PS3 version is possible, not once have they even hinted at the word exclusive.

Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing Ace Combat coming back to the PS3

+1

i loved the ace series on ps2. however, i haven't played an RPG on a console(beat FF7:CC but i mean non-portable) in a while. this could be a very good thing.

If Ace Combat stays as flaky as it has been over the last couple of installments, the Xbox 360 can keep it. :/

However, more JRPGs for the PS3 = yes please.

Last one I played was 3 on the PS2, and being that I've never played the 360's incarnation I'll go with your word on it.

Definitely more JRPG's...Hey Sony, how's about another Wild Arms for the PS3

Since my 360 bit the dust the minute I first put in Ace Combat 6 the other night I've been wanting even more to see AC back on the Playstation where it belongs.

Namco Bandai really needs to stop this stupid support of such an unreliable POS brick of a console like the 360. And no, I'm not ranting because I'm a blind Sony fanboy - I'm ranting because my lightly-used 360 crapped out on me after just a year and a half just as I was finally about to play the latest version of one of my all-time favorite franchises.

I wish Namco Bandai would make a definite commitment to a US port of Eternal Sonata too.
