I picked up the 3D amaray edition when it was released a couple of years back for like $5-7 during a Best Buy Upgrade & Save sale and used a $8 off coupon too. It's still sitting on my shelf unopened. I think this will be a very easy pass for me.

I ordered but having second thoughts... everyone knows that there is an extended version of Avatar. Makes me wonder if this is coming out and then in another couple of months an announcement for the extended edition on Blu-ray complete with another SteelBook, really wouldn't surprise me.

Isn't the extended edition already out? I'm presuming it's this one, unless there's a further extended cut beyond this one? Or are we saying the extended cut in 3D?

I have the above, but will re-house the discs, along with the 3D disc in the steelbook.

Yeah I just don't believe the extended release has been in 3D yet Council.

Yeah I meant to say the 3D extended edition. I got Avatar 3D free when I got my Panasonic 3D TV so didn't bother to buy the previous 3D release.
I did buy the SteelBook when it came out but really just wish that the extended edition would be released in 3D so until then to me its just not worth it so cancelling my order.

There is no extended 3D currently in existence I have pre-ordered it but purely because i don't have to pay a deposit. I'll decide between now and 08/12 if I'm keeping it, if i don't and it sells out then theres no choice to make lol

Also you get £2 off when bought with any Sale Steelbook found on this page.

http://www.zavvi.com/offers/steelbooks/sale.list
The e-mail Zavvi sent is very shady! They say that you save 2£ off of Avatar 3D Steelbook with purchase of sale steelbook. But they also have a £7.49 price listed in the e-mail next to the Avatar 3D Steelbook which makes it seem as though the Avatar 3D Steelbook is £7.49 before the discount. It's actually £21.99 and the Avatar 2D Steelbook is listed as £7.49, but the 2D steelbook does not apply to this "£2 off" deal.

Incompetence or deception on the part of Zavvi to try and trap eager enthusiasts who might not notice until it ships?!?! Either way... bad form Jack!

You'd know as soon as you added it to your cart, right?

Yes... I would. But, there are plenty of people who would panic through the purchasing process for fear of missing out and they may not go back to look thinking that they snagged the deal being advertised. There have been many who have stranger things. I'm just trying to help inform before people make a decision based on misguided information. "Doing my part to help the community."

I doubt that many would "panic through the purchase process"...even if they did, after they receive their payment confirmation email and see the much higher price, they can always cancel.
If someone is in that much of a rush that they don't even take a few seconds to analyze their cart, before hitting the purchase button...well maybe they need to rethink making online purchases.
As for the email being shady, I just clicked it and it took me to Zavvi's steelbook page with Avatar right out in front with the big, bold, price of £21.99 staring right at me.
I'll admit, Zavvi is quite special...but I don't see anything shady going on there, even if one were to dumb it down...but that's just me.

We are talking about humanity here. Besides, I carried through right up until "Submit My Order" thinking the £7.49 price would get applied at some point since that is what the e-mail was telling me. Of course I didn't finalize the order when it reflected otherwise at that point. So I srarted looking into it further.

My main point in all of this is Zavvi misleading their customers with the way in which the e-mail is presented.

Of course we'll never know, but I'm pretty sure most will be able to figure it out.

But I did figure it out. I went through the process knowing full well that i would back out before completing the order if the price didn't reflect the £7.49 advertised in the e-mail.

Don't try to spin this into a backhanded attempt at making me out to be stupid.

P.S. Your "" was obvious to me. Others may not see it as such.

You don't give people a lot of credit. Must be a complex?
Hey, just because you had trouble with it, doesn't mean the rest of the world will.
It's pretty basic.

Of course we can just sit back and wait and see how many people were "duped" by the Evil Empire: Zavvi!

You keep count, as will I, then we can compare numbers.

Once again, you are walking a line of trying to make me out to be someone with problems. This conversation is verging on personal. I don't appreciate the tone.

This started as an attempt to offer insight for others into a shady scenario that I observed. My intentions were nothing other than good. You have spun the entire conversation into something that is completely different while making me out to be some kind of idiot.

We've been down this road before Rickah88. I don't understand why you have to try making an attempt at a good deed into some form of judgemental attack.

And, for the last time. I didn't "have trouble" with anything.
