Hasn't this already been released in other forms but with the same cover??

How is it a 'Zavvi-exclusive' then?

May pick this up.

I have the existing UK steel but I don't really like it.

The Japanese one cost about $20 more. What's with all the negativity towards this release? (Not just people on Blu-ray.com but on HD Ninja).

The packaging is great and if the interior is full color it will be the best edition. It makes me glad I held off on the Japanese one. All of the other international editions have black and white interior art.

The hate for the entire fox line is that all of them were done in germany with identical finish and art but they came with a lenti card. I have the prometheus steel. Its actually a terrible steelbook with an awful finish that is completely redeemed by the fact that the lenticular magnet is good. These releases will be the same crappy steels without the redeeming quality of the magnet.

I used to own the German Avatar. The lenticular was very cool. But the rest was just OK, mainly because of black and white interior art and no back artwork. It was still very nice but once I realized editions were coming out with back art I wanted one like that... and finally a reasonably priced one is being made available. I don't think matte steelbooks are necessarily bad, so even if this is a matte release I think it will look very nice.

LizardSlayer, I like the look of that one too. If I could get it for a very good/reasonable price, I may want it at some point. Yet I also really like the Digipack style release in the US so I've not been in any rush to try and get a copy of the Extended version.

I don't have this movie in SteelBook form, so this will be a definite addition to my collection. I like this artwork far better than the original UK release (which is still available)

I have the 3D edition of Avatar but remember loads of scenes, including a different opening act with Jake, and extra scenes throughout the film. It was definitely, longer and slightly different than the cinema run. Wouldn't this be the extended edition??
