I'd like to know the answer to this one, too. Think it's a Dreamworks product, so it should eventually be available in Blu-ray. Anyone?

Dreamworks announced they are not releasing any of their animation until the format war is settled.

I agree. Pixar, Dreamworks Animation, and even George Lucas can end it all right now.

Exactly. Very senseless.

Also an obvious missed oppurtunity to rake in some cash during the forthcoming holiday season.

Well, Cars is definitely coming, it's already been scheduled, there's a preview of it on the Pirates BD's even.

Dreamworks supports both formats, Disney is Blu-ray exclusive, and Lucas isn't touching this with a 40 foot lightsaber

Dreamworks is owned by Paramount. Paramount is format neutral, even more so that Warner has been, by the looks of it all. If they were to release it now, it would be for both. My guess is, they are waiting for the dust to settle so they can have one format and absolutely maximise profitability. So much for the 'can't we all just get along' format hippies.

My take on this is:
Dreamworks and Pixar knows they are sitting on a goldmine of catalogue titles. They may want to wait until after the Feb.2009 HD broadcast deadline to make a move. More people will be forced to buy High-def equipment and the price of Blu-ray players may go down as well. The ideal time to release these titles is when more equipment are in the homes.

As a father, I am looking forward to the holy grail of all Blu-ray releases= a complete Pixar Box Set.
