Default Concerts in improved sound on blu-ray...

Hello all - I have just been watching The Original Three Tenors concert on DVD. It's the first time I've seen it in a while, and I was pleased to encounter it again for the perfomance and the wonderful Dolby Digital soundtrack. This got me to thinking though - how would this sound as an uncompressed PCM or lossless Dolby True HD soundtrack on a blu-ray disc? There will presumably be a multichannel PCM master sat in Decca's recording centre that could be mastered for blu-ray...

Then I realised there would be a problem - this concert, and I'm sure many like it that have glorious soundtracks ripe for the HD treatment, was shot on video in decidedly Standard Definition. How would people feel about concerts shot in SD video being released on blu-ray for the sake of their soundtracks? Presumably, record labels and studios would need to be careful about their use of the term 'high-definition' (or indeed the utterly meaningless 'beyond high-definition') and the video could be de-interlaced and scaled to a high-def format by the studio. I think it could be great if done properly, but I wondered if people would be open to this sort of thing, or just horrified at the thought of blu-ray without true high-def video.
