I am an honest businessman, that is WHY I have to defend myself from people like you calling people like myself douchebags. I guess I can't win for losing. If I say nothing, you've 'won' and made your point and assume the dishonest douche has crawled back into his cave. If I defend myself, I'm still a dishonest douche businessman. So what do I care, no matter what I do you I can't defend myself in your eyes.

And yeah...I'm honest. Very honest. Here's how it works: I buy a movie for 30 dollars. I sell it on Amazon or ebay for whatever the going rate is. On websites that are legit, legal, and have millions of customers looking for the items I sell, all official releases purchased that are listed and described clearly, honestly, and sent to a buyer in the same condition as I've described for the price I listed it at (that the customer agreed to).

Now, please...tell me again how I'm being dishonest.

So by this logic, people shouldn't be allowed to sell long-OOP items from the 80s or 90s that could potentially sell more than they did when they were being sold?

Also, TT isn't the only avenue to get Fright Night. Anyone who knows enough about the TT releases of it would be able to easily find out there's a region free German release with the same transfer for nearly a third of the cost.

oh knock it off guys with the scalper/businessman crap! Once again, a thread has gotten completely derailed by a few people insulting each other over and over again.

The expression "take it outside" comes to mind.... (as in PM'S)

now, has anyone actually seen the PQ of the disc yet?

Continuing this debate is equivalent to banging my head against a wall.

Enough. On to other things, please.

The Blu-Ray sold out! Have you no concept of limited editions and products going up in value? And holy cow, YOU SELL RARE GUITARS! I'm guessing that your customers can't find those guitars in the original stores where they sold them. That's because they're rare. Just like the fright night movies. So now you sell those guitars for a profit. It doesn't matter what the profit is. You are still selling those guitars for more then you could buy them in the store. How are you missing this concept?

And no one is forcing anyone to buy anything anywhere. Since they're not available at twilight time anymore where else do you expect these people to get them but the secondary market? I'd love to hear your solution to a problem that involves the studio and company only making enough available for a small fraction of the customer base.

Welcome to supply and demand. If the consumer doesn't pay the price the seller has to bring their prices in line or risk not selling

Sounds more like HE hit a nerve with your self righteous indignation flooding through your words

Oh and you're right. You're not forced to do business with him. Just like the rest of the market is free TO do business with him if they like

Ironically all the TT detractors get hammered by supporters saying "go do business elsewhere", or "it's not that much, you can't afford that???" etc etc when they put out a limited pressing for 2-3x what other studios put out, then when consumers pull the same stunt, the TT supporters scream bloody murder.

Sounds to me like the guy who sells vintage guitars for a profit should start investing in Windex. A house made out of that much glass sure does take a lot of upkeep.

There's nothing wrong with buying them to sell, however since they're limited edition and real fans of the film miss out sometimes I think those people have a legitimate beef. It's not like selling your condo for a profit 20 years later means other people must do without condos.

I think TT have found the right balance though, with the 3-copy limit and 1-copy limit later on. That way resellers can do their thing to a limited extent and fans should have more time to get a copy for themselves. Worked out well for The Blob, but I think TT (again) underestimated desire for this title.

20 days later and still have not received my German version. How long does it take to get a blu from Germany here in America anyway? They give no tracking at all.

So this limited edition bullcrap and folks selling these for inflated prices on amazon and ebay isn't doing much in regards to the bootleg problem but I'm guessing folks don't think about that anymore. Why would I buy an original for 200 bucks when I could buy a bootleg blu-ray at a film convention for 20 bucks?

I am in Canada and the last two orders I've put in from Amazon Germany took approximately FOUR weeks to arrive.

Yes, I agree. I've only used Amazon.de once many years ago, but the orders I've placed with other German retailers have generally taken about three weeks, perhaps slightly more.

The only thing I say is if you are really true fan you should have it. How come true fans miss a change of buying the movie they are a true fan of? I really don't understand the argument. Sorry, if you miss Fright Night twice, in my books, you are not a true fan. For example, I remember seeing Star Wars fans waiting days in line to watch Episode 1, that's a true fan to me!!!! By the way, I consider myself a true fan of Fright Night, I bought both editions from Screen...
