Alan can have children and be gay. Its just gimmicky.
And im sick of the comic industry doing this. Painting heroes Black or Gay or even Girl Thor is lazy. DC & Marvel have plenty underestablished Black heroes that need better representation, yet theyll make Heimdall, Alicia Walters, Johhny Storm, Iris Allen, etc, Black to appear multi-cultural. Its just a cosmetic gimmick, and neglects the established characters that are sitting on the shelf. Or just create a new character. On the otherside, they did a great job w Black Manta in the latest JL+Aquaman film. And Black Spider in Assault on Arkham was very good example of highlighting an underused character.
