We all know aacs has been hacked for both hd-dvd and blue-ray, which leaves hd-dvd wide open and blue-ray with bd+. I can only imagine that there will be a cheap hybrid hd-dvd/(blue-ray burner) on the market within the next year. What is to stop people from burning dual layer universal movies onto dual layer blue ray discs and hence completing their hd catalogs? The hd-dvd folks can’t make the same claim, because 50gigabytes don’t fit on a 30gigabyte disc. In the end, I could see a lot of people pirating Universal movies.
