I don't think it's fair to call that member insane either. We know nothing about her. People can be pretty cruel in forums. One would hope at least in a blu-ray forum members would remember to be kind to one another, since we're all here due to a common interest. Obviously I can't speak for every point she made, but a good amount of what she said is very much true.

As I mentioned in my opinion above, I think people in general don't remember precise colors very well - the average human brain just does poorly in that category. Heck, people in general make very poor witnesses in crimes for the same reason - they remember details poorly and mis-remember things. But images can make any impression on people that they will remember. |

http://www.color-blindness.com/2009/...lor-blindness/
"Color blindness is more prevalent among males than females, because the most common form of color vision deficiency is encoded on the X sex chromosome." http://www.color-blindness.com/2006/...nd-population/ "Roughly 8% of men and 0.5% of women are affected. Therefore chances that your neighbour or one of your classmates is colorblind are very high." Thankfully, my color perception is also very good so far. I'm hoping it remains that way. But close to 1 out of every 10 males is color blind. That's pretty significant. |

You think basic neuroscience is sexist? Do you also find it offensive that men, possessing of higher levels of testosterone, produce muscle at an accelerated rate and are, therefore, physically stronger than females, even controlling for diet, levels of exercise and muscle stimulation as well as other muscle producing substances like L-Carnitine? Is human biology really sexist to you? Let me guess, you think the sun revolves around the earth and that's the way it is and that's the way you like it. I'd tell you you've been rude here but you'd probably find that sexist as well.

Also, thanks for noticing the Fellowship issue. I was playing with my settings on that one for quite a while before it occurred to me that it might be the disc. |

What an odd opinion. You think my education makes me insane but you draw the line at calling me sexist.

![]() The green tint on FOTR is not a new issue. It was noticed as soon as the extended set was released in 2011. |

Second, I stated, and will state again, that I am highly visual. I remember visual events the way some people remember conversations or numbers. It is a form of natural variation in processing that makes people different from one another, that is to say, not all copies of you. Third, I never claimed to have personally done advanced research on whether people remember colors from films. However, I have participated in studies being done on the ability of the average human to remember words, sentence structure, emotional response, color, content of the visual field and other sensory inputs as compared to each other and to those with gifts in those different areas of processing, both as a subject and researcher (depending on which study was being done). Its called academic research and it is something many people do in the pursuit of their advanced degrees. Fourth, I'll say again, I never diagnosed David Cronenberg with anything. I stated that I had an emotional response to seeing the Criterion edition of Scanners because what I was seeing reminded me of what happened in my father's photographs as he developed a visual impairment and, living in fear of developing that myself, worry that Cronenberg my be developing a problem similar to his. Fifth, I did not say my family is made up of overly demanding people who all complain about their senses. I have a family made up of people, each of whom, purchased their own copy of a film we all love because they each prefer a different color or sound from the other versions in the home. Two of the versions are never watched because they turned out not to match initially published specs (on manufacturers websites and in one case YesAsia) but we are all different and do have different preferences. Not everyone is as lucky as you, to have a family made up of identical people who all think the same way. And to close, if as you claim, you find people responding to your odd declaration that nothing anyone says they remember could possibly be what they actually remember and that you, somehow, know what they remember better than they ever could, to be so nuts and indicative of a condition of pathological lying, I turn you to the DSM IV description of malignant narcissism and suggest you consider the possibility that some people are actually different from you, as special as you surely are. |
