Just thought I'd get an idea on the average number of speakers folks are running on their H/T setups....
My own 140" CIH, non-AT screen front pj setup consists of a 16-speaker configuration: Front L&R : 4 (2 above screen & 2 below) Center: 2 (1 above screen & 1 below) -- I've always found dialog volume levels lacking, especially when the other channels are active -- my 2-speaker solution remedies this) Side surround: 2 Rear Surround: 2 Subwoofers: 6 (1 in each front corner for more even coverage / 1 exclusively for center channel dialog -- I've always found most home center channel speakers incapable of reproducing the deep, robust quality of commercial theater dialog -- my sub solution addresses this) / 1 for augmenting rear channel efx / 2 Buttkicker 'Silent Subwoofers'. Ideally, I prefer my H/T's audio to be as immersive as the image. Last edited by ambientcafe; 09-15-2008 at 09:01 AM. |
