Completely agree. I really wish the Jar Jar theory and the Luke is Kylo Ren theories would go the way of the Dodo Bird.

Well...found out today that my niece's Xmas pageant has been announced for that night - 6pm to 7pm.
My sister said that she'd come as soon as she could and I could save her a seat (which I probably wouldn't be allowed to do). I don't want her to miss the beginning of the movie but I also think it's total BS that the school randomly decided on that date. Or am I over-thinking how many people care about this? I'm sure that, to most people, it's just a movie (ie you can see it anytime and it won't matter) but I was really looking forward to it being something special and sharing that memory with my family. I remember seeing Sith with my dad and sister at midnight and I was really hoping to re-capture that. I guess I'm just pissed and disappointed.

You overestimate how much this movie release actually affects the larger society we live in.

The world does not stop for this movie release, businesses are not closing, the government is not shutting down and the earth continues to rotate.

The truth is that fans such as yourself are the minority of the minority of the minority. Most of the world will not pause in a moment of silence on the anniversary of Han's death (if that happens) next year.

I would even say that a majority of the people that visit this forum do not even have advanced tickets to see this movie. They WILL see it, but it will be a week or two after release on a Tuesday afternoon.

I'm as excited as anyone about this movie, but I remain grounded in reality.

Your sister seems to have her priorities strait though. She is actually putting her family first and understanding that seeing a movie can wait when compared to her child. Also, I'm sure the date was not decided randomly by the school. It seems to me that it is probably the last day of school before the winter break, which would make a perfect date for the Christmas pageant...right?

Sorry man, but you brought it up and I have to say that you would be best served in life by bringing your perspective on life out of the stars and place it firmly back on earth.

Even if he didn't, all the evidence is there to back that theory up. And so what if it's not true or is what Lucas had in mind for the character of Jar Jar Binks, it changes your perspective and adds a whole new layer to the prequel films.

I also can't believe people still hate Jar Jar after all these years. They act as if he's the worst thing that was ever done to the Star Wars Universe. I loved Jar Jar as kid, of course I was six when TPM came out. I had a Jar Jar Binks birthday cake and was Jar Jar for two Halloweens.

Luke being Kylo is not even close to being a estimated assumption, it just ISN'T physically possible!!

Luke is bigger around the waist, and Kylo/Driver is THIN!! The voices don't match up, and in an earlier trailer, where Finn and Ren face off in the snowy woods, you can CLEARLY see his helmet is off and there is long black hair instead of Luke's brownish hair.

Seriously people!!!! There's more of a chance that Luke is Khan in this movie than he is of being Kylo Ren. (cause, ya know, with time travel, people change from being of Indian descent)

Unless they are both running around wearing the same outfit, Adam Driver IS Kylo.

Except it doesn't, because it's not true. People claim Harry Potter is about mental illness. Doesn't mean it's true.

I don't hate Jar Jar. I was 4 when TPM was in theaters. I loved it then. I still think it's the best prequel now. I have a Jar Jar figure on my desk. It doesn't mean I'm going to pretend the theory is true, because it's just not. If you enjoy it, that's your thing. Have fun with it. Just don't start saying its fact that it's true.

Honestly, I think JJ has a group of bloggers/writers working for him that write this junk up and post it on the internet. Then the stories get passed around and people have a field day with it.

Think of how many rumors/speculations have come out so far: Finn is Lando's son, Kylo is Luke, Kylo and Daisy Ridley's character are twins, BB-8 being a smooshed R2-D2, Finn being a spy from the Rebellion instead of a Stormtrooper who defects, Snoke being larger than the universe, Snoke being a clone of Palps, Boba Fett returning, von Sydow playing Boba Fett, von Sydow playing a character from the SW Rebels show, the Nakatomi Plaza is the new super weapon, Snoke is Plagueis, Snoke is a Hobbit, etc.

EDIT: Oh, and I just remembered this one about Boba Fett...somewhere I read that Captain Phasma was supposed to be Boba Fett...sheesh.

Other than Ridley obviously being Luke or Leia's daughter I really hope they avoid the silly "OMG THEY'RE RELATED" B.S. that really harmed the prequels. "Anakin made 3-PO isn't that cool?" No George, no it is not.

While I personally don't think Kylo Ren is Luke Skywalker, let me just ask this question...

Who played Vader in the original trilogy? Was it David Prose, James Earl Jones or Sebastian Shaw?
Prose wore the suit, Jones gave the voice but Shaw got the final reveal when the helmet came off.

Edit: Again, I don't think Kylo is Luke, but another way to look at things...
JJ and Company came out repeatedly and said Cumberbatch was playing John Harrison, even showed up in IMDB initially with that. Cumberbatch said the same thing. IF (and it's one hell of a huge, highly unlikely if) but if Kylo Ren ends up being Luke Skywalker you think anyone is going to let that cat out of the bag before the film gets released with as tight as things have been over there?
