BONNIE AND CLYDE and LIFE OF BRIAN are two of my favorite films in my collection. The former is 40 years old, and the latter is 29 years old. Both look incredible, given their low budgets and age. B&C in particular. In terms of both image quality and content, hasn't aged a day.
I'm really looking forward to the Criterion Collection's Blu-Ray release of THE THIRD MAN. In general, I get more excited for older films than new releases in terms of picture quality. To take something decades old and make it look like they shot it yesterday is a true feat. |
