Default Speaker Wire Outlets in the Wall-Yay or Ney???

Hello everyone. I tried searching a few different ways and didn’t come up with anything. I’m in the planning stages of fixing up my basement and am looking for some advice from anyone that might have a little insight.

Speaker wire outlets. Are there any pro’s or con’s of running your speaker wire in the wall to a jack and then connecting your speak to the jack?? I hope you know what I’m talking about. Kind of along the same lines as a power outlet.

I worked at Best Buy for 6 years but that was when I was a teenager. I always thought it better to run a wire directly from your receiver to the speaker and avoid any interruptions.

I’m looking to keep everything clean looking and want to avoid zip tying wires together behind my equipment.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!!
