MacBooks with BD Drive- Next Week?

Those that want blu will have it either way. They are just stiffing themselves. I used to be an Apple hater but the last year or so I have changed my views. Since owning my iPhone (yeah I know its not a macbook) I think apple is a great company with lots of innovation up it's sleeve. They did bring us the ipod which revolutionized music. They give us our digital copies which is also very nice.

I wouldn't be too hard on apple for no blu drives yet. If you want one, get a pc. You do have a choice

Exactly and I'm exercising my choice to buy a PC. I'm the opposite of you, I was really keen on Apple when they decided to switch to Intel processors but now totally hate the company and their tactics. I'll get back to my Blu-Ray point in a second, but here's the stuff that bothered me:

1) No OSX installations on PC
2) Shitty, shitty version of iTunes PC (even on a Quad Core) - the Conspirary Theorist in me thinks this is to coerse people into buying a Mac
3) Still relatively expensive hardware
4) Lag or refusa to adopt industry-wide standards (Blu-ray, HDMI, etc.)

Back to Blu-Ray, he blames licensing costs (this time). Last time he said that the industry is clearly moving towards digital downloads (which it is not). What's the excuse going to be next time?

And, let's not let what Apple did to music happen to video. I can't believe people are happy with 128 kps lossy mp3s, yet they play them on the $200 state of the art iphones/ipods. I can't imagine (and it scares me) that one day everyone is going to be thrilled with 4MBS 720p video with two channel sound.
