Default MacBooks with BD Drive- Next Week?

I'm just wondering, it appears, without a doubt, that Apple will be unveiling new MacBooks next week (October 14).

I'm just wondering, does anyone know if we can expect a Blu-ray drive to be avalible (maybe on the higher end)? Or do we just have to wait and see.

I told a friend that I won't buy a Mac Book/Mac Book Pro until they put a Blu ray drive in them. If this happens then I will have to look into following thru.

All claims like this are a hoax / practical joke against the Mac people, without a verifiable link.

Sorry for no link, but it's been made clear from several sources, the one I use the most is www.macrumors.com, there's rumors all over that site, pointing next Tuesday as the date something involving the Macbooks will be unveiled. I'm just wondering if one of those things could be a BD drive.

See, that is what I don't like - rumors. Because they rarely pan out.
I have a friend down the street that is pretty much dying because there is no BD drive/playback on Macs.
I haven't heard from him about ^^^ this ^^^ rumor, but I imagine he has seen/heard of it.
Nice guy actually.
I don't want to see him get let down again, ya know?

Same applies to a couple people here.

Default Blu-Ray MacBooks to debut on Tuesday?

Blu-Ray MacBooks to debut on Tuesday?

http://www.electricpig.co.uk/2008/10...ut-on-tuesday/

Quote:
Kevin Rose has let slip another tasty Apple rumour, following his spot-on predictions of the new iPod nano and iPod touch, the Digg founder says new MacBooks packing Blu-Ray drives will take centre stage on Tuesday.
The internet whizzkid let slip that he expects MacBooks packing Sony’s HD format to be unveiled at Apple’s special event next week, but also said that his source for the latest nugget of information was much less reliable than the one behind his iPod predictions.
Rose made his predictions at the Future of Web Apps expo in London. Also speaking at the event was Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg. You can read our live report from Zuckerberg’s address right here.
But what do you reckon to MacBooks with Blu-Ray inside? Is it time Apple took the plunge and installed them as standard?
One can only hope...

Was discussed already...

I honestly hope it happens, but as we all know, rumors have a way of letting you down.

-the sirius web player
-mlb.tv didnt load correctly
-my copy of office didnt work and they wanted 150 for there version which was bs to me as the guy at the store told me the windows version would work fine when i originally bought the computer
-my printers software also wouldnt load after being told it would be fine even confirmed model # and all that good stuff
-lots of others that i dont have the time to go thru and list but those were the 4 that disturbed me the most especially the office thing since the salesman basically lied to me to make the sale when he knew full well it didnt work. i lost 115 back but when i was in there i made my displeasure very loud and was able to convince 3 ppl to stop there purchases when they heard my story so i figured that was at least 3k they lost so its fine
