Panasonic - Vertical Black Bar Problem

Just wondering if anybody out there could tell me what would cause a vertical black bar to appear on my Panasonic Plasma 42" tv. It's located about 8 inches from the left of the screen and is approx. 1.5" inches wide running from the very bottom to the very top. It's there nearly everytime i turn my tv on and it'll usually stay 20 - 30 minutes before it disappears, but is than replaced by a faint yellow/orange colored stripe from the right side edge of that black stripe that proceeded it, only this stays the entire time the tv is on. I hoped it would go away but now everytime i watch tv, or movies i have this distracting line ruining everything i watch. Has anybody heard of this before?? I would appreciate any advice or troubleshooting tips.
