The minimum that's been used for 1080p hi-def is about 13Mbps using AVC codec + 640kbps for a 5.1 (lossy) Dolby Digital track. That would yield...50,000*8/(13.64*60) = 488 mins, or 8:08. Practically speaking, HD material benefits from using a higher bitrate. If you were to use the full bandwidth every second, there would be room for about 2 1/4 hours of HD video with lossless audio. Most movies use something in between these 2. |
